Crosstown Shootout Thoughts?

I just wanted to see what you all thought on this, I think we should win it. UC doesn't have a great offense and that should be good for our D. What do you guys think before I make a terrible bet with my roommate?

Neither does Butler and we shut down their best player but still gave up 80+ points. Soooooooo....

I do think X is better than UC this year, but it will be tough on the road.

I pray we win. I think we'll lose. The Shootout away from home is difficult to win any year. This year, we're floundering on the road in games less emotional than the Shootout.

I don't want to think about it. Even if we win, we're going to have to come back three days later to play Butler at home then two days later play AT St. John's. 3 games in 5 days- 2 away from Cintas. That is not positive.

The tougher team both mentally and physically win this game. We have been inefficient in both areas so far on the road so I just can't see us winning it. If it were at home though, we would win...heck I think we could beat Kentucky if the game was at cintas

We always have a chance. We seem to have thier number the past two decades but it is going to be tough. Has anyone actually watched them play? Cincy is always known for their defense but it's almost like they've brought it up a notch this season. Believe they are ranked in the top 5 in scoring defense and maybe top 15ish in blocks.

Our guards are better shooters than theirs and they seem to be turnover prone. However, their bigs are much more athletic and in shape than ours. Octavious Ellis can get up and down the floor for a post player and will run circles around Matt. I think the game is lost with Stainbrook not being able to keep up.

X should beat uc. Though it is a road game, is it truly a road game? X did win at Missouri.

I just wish we would scrap the packline D.

Having watched UC a few times this season, they struggle on the offensive end. Which is why they will probably score 80 poionts.

On paper, X is the better team but with this current X team, I honestly don't know what to expect and if everyone will show up.

UC's offense is ugggggggly.. They really don't have any big time scoring threats. No one averages double figures. Caupain, the sophomore point guard, is their best player. The rest seem to all be role players that play hard. They aren't smart on offense at all

However, their defense is top notch. They get a lot of turnovers and don't give up very many offensive rebounds. Key to that one will be not letting them get points off turnovers and letting that crapy arena get loud. Then it'll give UC confidence it doesn't have on offense.
