The Bush and Obama bailouts looked to the future for big paybacks. They were an investment. It's possible that the investment in marginal kids' junior college/trade school educations could produce benefits for the future also. (And that's "President Dumbass" to you!)

It's 2 free years of community college. Which on average costs $3,800. A lot of countries around the world already do this.

I think he's skipping a couple of steps of college tuition reform though. Fixing the student loan system would be a good place to start, but this move could hopefully bring down the ridiculously high cost of college.

Well, some highly developed and successful countries like Germany are in that crowd. They go much further though and give everyone free tuition, even foreigners. I see this as a good investment in our population and future.
