I will be really curious to see tonight how much Farr plays. I was under the impression that he was "sick" Saturday, but Mack's comments (or lack thereof) after the game suggested there was more going on. I wonder if his contested 3 that he chucked up, put him in the dog house? All of this on the heels of his best overall performance as a Muskie against Georgetown makes me want to scratch my head? What else could be going on?

What did Mack say or not say about Jimmy Saturday? I missed it.

When asked after the game if Farr was sick, Mack responded with no comment.

With all the ill-advised shots this team has taken this season, Mack can't be sitting James simply because he took a bad one at DePaul. Got to be more to it, but have no idea.

On Mack's Monday night radio show he did say that Jimmy was sick at DePaul.

We know coach. Everybody is sick. Dee has been sick for 4 years. Stain is sick, Trevon is sick....everybody is sick. I don't know how they will win tonight with this sickness. Blah blah blah. Win a close game or a road game or you will be looking for work sooner than later.

When asked, should Mack have lied and said, "No, he was not sick."?

Well, when originally asked he didn't say he was sick. So there's that.

He didn't answer the question after the game. I don't know why. My point- I'm just not sure why GG is getting on Mack for saying, "He was sick" after being asked on Monday.

And my point is that I have no earthly idea why Mack would do that.

Why go no comment then circle back later and make a point to say that he was.

If he was sick, just say that after the game.

Whether Jimmy was sick or not it seems odd to me the way Mack handled it.

I don't know either. Maybe Mack didn't want to say "Farr was sick" right after the game because he thought it would come across as an excuse. Maybe Mack didn't want to discuss Farr's illness for some reason. I don't know. But I'm not going to criticize him based on a bunch of speculation.

It's also possible he didn't know the extent of the illness at the time, or thought he was just dogging it.

On Mack's Monday night radio show he did say that Jimmy was sick at DePaul.

Then why just say that after the game?

Unless, god forbid, Farr has a serious illness, let's not start acting like dayton fans here. My guess is every team around this time of the year deals with some common colds and flus. Rule #76: No excuses, play like a champion. Whatever it was that kept Farr on the bench, I hope it's behind us, because we really need his rebounding on both ends, and while he's not the most mobile guy, we could have used him on the defensive end in the second half against DePaul.

Maybe Jimmie is sick of Mack yelling at him not to take unwarranted 3's....just sayin

I don't think anyone is blaming the loss on Farr being sick.

Has Mr. Farr visited any African countries recently?

or thought he was just dogging it.

This...coaches don't like the "i'm sick" excuse. They want to see toughness...my guess is Mack was thinking "I played sick all of the time, it would have taken a severed limb to not be out there"

Well, when originally asked he didn't say he was sick. So there's that.

He knew that had he responded that he was sick, that GG would post a thread blaming Mack for blaming our woes on the flu.

EDIT: BTW, from Banners on the Parkway - it's either accurate or Pravda-esque:

Xavier should be back to full strength after the flu has swept the team and is definitely not on a roll.

May Gary G rest in peace, I swear he's still channeling his negative attitude towards coaches through this board. No rest for the truly angry, whatever the thread topic is.

Blah blah blah is right, if this team or coach was as weak as you they would never win a game.
