According to a release to the Enquirer, the Crosstown Shootout has sold out.
Looks like I am going to be missing this one for the first time since 2006.

Is this UC's first sell out of the year?

This seems very sketchy to me. The single game tickets for the game were released this morning at 8am, I was on exactly at 8 and only single seats available. Where did all the other tickets go? UC averages less than 7k per game and has eclipsed 10k just once (10,013). As most of you know Fifth Third is larger than Cintas and holds about 13k

I'm sure they offered extra tickets to their fan base in a presale, just like we would.

I just snagged one of those single seats. Row 5 of 203.

Someone told me UC was selling season ticket packages that included the Xavier game for $99 per seat. I never verified this, but if true, it could have helped boost the attendance figures for UC. I noticed they also had their largest crowd of the year against SMU the other day. UC fans are a tough bunch to figure out.

Their attendance issues in Clifton are odd. I'd say the increasing numbers have more to do with a "win one for the gipper" type thing than anything else. Even the most fair-weather of fans will rally behind a sick coach.

The $99 nosebleed bleacher offer was going for nearly 3 months.
