We had a thread a few years ago where folks listed out all of the venues where they have seen XU play. On the eve of the first Big East roady of the year, I thought I'd start it up again as the big east may have allowed some of you to add new venues. Any fun stories from the venues would be awesome!

My list:

The Gardens
Cintas
Star/Firstar/Crown/US Bank
5/3 Arena
Millet
UDump
Rhoades Arena (Akron)
Quicken Loans (Gund at the time...rock and roll shootout)
Palace of Auburn Hills
Diddle Arena (Western KY)
MSG
Rose Hill (Fordham)
Tom Gola (LaSalle)
Verizon Center DC
Halton Arena (Charlotte)
Georgia Dome
ST. Thomas (Virgin Islands Tourney)
Lawrence Joel (Wake Forest)

Best Story: Still the best student section display was at Western KY. We were top 10 with Posey, Brown, Williams...great crowd. We pulled away to win and at the end the gave our guys a standing ovation as they left arena near student section. Was Awesome!

Best road performance: Jimmal Ball of Akron scoring 44 in a 3ot thriller.

I don't have a long list either. All the places in Cincinnati, some tournament games, some A10 venues.
Did go to Stegeman Arena on UGA campus; only seemed to be about a dozen Muskie fans there in total.
Georgia has the shortest cheerleaders in the country; apparently all washouts from the gymnastics team which is tops in the country.

That was a great game, but I was wearing the red and black that night. I graduated from Louisville St. X in 1994, and I did not at that point know that I was bound for Xavier. I also wore red to the Louisville/Xavier game in the Preseason NIT before the 1988 season at Riverfront Coliseum. I'd never even heard of Xavier at the time (I was 12). That still may be the single greatest environment for a college basketball game that I've ever experienced. When Kenny Payne (who, as a Calipari assistant is dead to me) hit the three to tie the game the roar from the Louisville crowd was absolutely deafening. It was only bested by the roar of the Xavier crowd moments later when Tyrone Hill scored over Pervis Ellison for the win.

Damn, I knew I left one out. Greenville, SC Civic Center. Xavier vs Furman 12/28/1973. We lost. Part of a doubleheader, though. Clemson and South Carolina played the second game. It was wild.

We were in Atlanta at that time. I had taken a job at Ford and moved down there in May,1973. It was over the holidays. Just made a leisurely drive up I-85 to watch a College BBall Double Dip. Xavier sucked then though. Tay Baker was coach and we wound up 8-18 losing to. Furman by 12, to The Cryers twice- once by over 30, to Bonnie's by 26 and ND by 43. We even lost to Miami by 9 at home!

Young whippersnappers just don't understand how far this program and University have come. We were abjectly horrible in all respects- except for the Golf Team, of course.

Public Reps to all of you! Not only for some crazy extensive lists, but for remembering so many locations. I'm on pace to visit more arenas than MOR, give or take another 5-10 years.

This year, I'm going to be adding the Wells Fargo Center in Philly to the list. This will also be one of the last opportunities to see Xavier there; word out of Philly is that they're green-lighting a new 76ers arena in Center City/Chinatown.

A lot fewer than more than 50.

A few from this neck of the woods:

Bradley Center and
FiServ in MKE

Rosemont Horizon and Allstate Arena and
WinStar in Chicago for Depaul

Win Star is a pretty nice building. The basketball has been really bad since DeP moved in there, but the building and experience are much nicer than being stuck out in Rosemont. Their students are still screwed, though. WinStar has the same capacity as Cintas. Better sight lines says me.
