View Full Version : Trevon Bluett
He's got the body and the tools, he's getting enough shots and minutes, not making forsh mistakes.
If we're going to move into a better place, we need him to relax just a bit and get the shots to fall. I'm behind this player, he needs the support and confidence of us all to realize all that potential. Cmon Trevon.

Agreed. Then again, he's a freshman. Give him some time.
Didn't he hurt his hand ? Maybe it's still bothering him. Your hand WOULD affect one's shot.

We have a bunch of guys who can and will score at a pretty good clip.
I don't think anyone is going to average more than 12-13 PPG for the season.
I think Trevon is going to be fine. He's going through a bit of a tough stretch, but will have plenty of chances to get back on track.

Xavier has a lot of players that can hit open shots. I would rather have them taking them than have Trevon forcing shots to average 15 points per game. Just because he is not scoring doesn't mean he isn't contributing. Last night he was rebounding, assisting and doing his job better than any freshmen on the team. He doesn't have to be a Holloway or Lyons and carry the offense because we have a lot more offensive weapons. With this team lets not worry about who does the scoring as long as somebody scores.

I was actually thinking during the game last night about how much I like that gifted scorers like Blueitt and Macura don't feel like they need to force more shots. I believe that Blueitt as been battling the flu lately as well. I'm sure he will get back on track.
I would like to see Blueitt and/or Macura develop the patented Tu Holloway step back 3 pointer though. That was a nasty shot. I'd rather have Trevon shoot a contested 3 vs. an open one from Farr.

Macura has by far the highest usage rate on the team, and I doubt he often sees a shot he doesn't like, so I wouldn't put him next to Bluiett in this description. Still, he's a freshman and a talented enough scorer to compensate for being a bit too eager.

Yes he and Macura are just Freshmen and will get better as the season progresses. I would rather see a Blueitt/Macura jumper than an ill-advised Dee Davis drive against 4 guys. Dee loves that move.

I hope he keeps averaging 13/5 while struggling.

I am not worried about Treyvaughn Blewits production. He's way to talented top keep down for long.
Bluiett has been in a bit of a slump lately after making the game look effortless the first couple weeks. It's part of being a freshman. It's also different when defenses start keying in on you more. I still think he will have an awesome conference season and be one of the top freshmen in the Big East. When he returns to form and Jalen puts it all together, which I believe will be soon, we are going to be a tough team to beat.

He's settling for the jumper too much. Him and Macura have the same fault...they need to shoot. And if the game progresses where they don't get shots, the feel the need to fire away. And then they do, and it's a tough shot that they don't make.
Both need to let the game come to them and not fall in love with the jump shot all of the time. Both can get to the rim, especially Bluiett.
I hope he keeps averaging 13/5 while struggling.
Yeah, that's a pretty nice "slump" for a freshman.
It will all come together and be a thing of beauty.

Oh man you beat me to it. Yep Tre is a 6'6 220lb beast with a soft shooter's touch. No worries here

Bluiett is the absolute least of our worries. He will be just fine...he's a freshman. Reynolds needs to step up and become a dominant inside man offensively and defensively and davis needs to be a consistent performer and stop going 1 on 4, 2-3 times a game. If those two things happen, everything else being equal, this team is going to be really good come march.

Am I the only one that now struggles with the spelling of Bulleit bourbon due to Trevon Bluiett?

That could be the bourbon's fault.
Just sayin'...
