Didn't see this posted yet. Stainbrook certainly is one of a kind - sort of a second coming of Chris Sabo without the weird, crazy parts.

Too bad he doesnt drive for Lyft instead or I am sure I probably would have had him as a driver. Pretty funny stuff.

Actually I'm pretty sure he does drive for Lyft. At least, he did a month ago. A friend of mine screenshot their phone and it was definitely Stainbrook as the driver.

Cool story, but I am kinda surprised that the NCAA (or our compliance dept) allows him to do it. Just worries me that we are going to hear about an investigation into whether a generous tip by booster (or drunk student) was an impermissible benefit.
Sorry, ill stop being a buzz kill now.

Oh interesting. I guess a lot of people do drive for both. I live in Columbus now but was in Cincinnati this weekend and took two Lyft rides, too bad I didnt have him, I would have loved that.

I think since he gave his scholarship to his brother, the NCAA has less involvement than it would if he was on scholarship. Then again, the NCAA pretty much defines the term "irrational".
Every time I think I can't love Matt Stainbrook more than I already do, information like this comes out.

Hopefully he can rival McDermott for greatest walk-on in the history of the Big East.

You're not allowed to tip uber drivers.
You're not allowed to tip uber drivers.
I thought you just added it to the tab instead of cash?

There is no cash involved with Uber.....you can't tip drivers. App doesn't let you.
Accepting a cash tip would be different obviously but also hard to prove I suppose.

He's actually pretty fun to be in the car with, holds good conversation (I guess because I'm a student here) and had water and candy for the whole group! Hehe. But yeah, the guy is an absolute class act, when he transferred I wasn't sold on him, but he brings a good spirit to the university and is obviously a beast on the court as well. I tip my hat to Mr. Stainbrook.

Yeah he gave me a ride about a month ago. After a night at the bars I had to take a double take before I realized it was him. He was a lot of fun to talk with. Definitely one of the larger WTF moments of my life when I got out of the car.

I am sure XU's compliance office checked this out first and since he is not on scholarship, my guess the regular rules do not apply.

My only regret with Stainbrook is that we only had such a short time with him in a Xavier uniform due to the transfer.
