Looks like we will potentially get a rematch against IU. Cannot wait. pic.twitter.com/CUrsWlOUu7
That seems like a really low seed.

i think we got a royal screw job....georgetown, creighton and providence all get seeded and X doesn't? Plus a potential matchup against a perennial stud soccer program in Indiana? I call bs on this one.

I was at the IU game two years ago. The final score was 4-1, but Xavier was in it with about 15:00 left. IU scored and Xavier had to get numbers forward. That's where the last two goals came from. I'm going to try to be at Xavier on Thursday.

The draw is not bad, but not having a bye while the other 3 BE teams do is BS. Would you rather go to IU (where you have played and know the team well) or go to Stanford after a bye?

IU, we beat IU in an exhibition this season, and we know their style well, I think we match up with them pretty good. Yes we got royally screwed, but we are in the tournament, and making some noise this year will start earning us some damn respect that we deserve. Kick off will be at 7:00 or 7:15, tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youths if you guys plan on attending! I would like to see us break the attendance record of 2,800+ that we set against UC this year! Plus the Xooligans always make it entertaining ;) (Okay I'm done plugging our student section)

They also finished a marathon up in Columbus - Ohio State beat Akron in the 15th round (that's right, the 15th round) of the shootout.

I stood on the hill near Chris Mack last night. I saw London and O'Mara at the game, too. It's nice to have support from the rest of the athletic department.

If you go (and drive) I'd be interested in letting you buy me a ticket

If I decided to, I'll let you know. I'll get the Versa on gassed up.

Great win by the soccer team, I would love to see them keep it up. For a northern team to go deep in the NCAA tourney is impressive. For Xavier who rarely has gone this far, it is even more impressive.
Is this a single elimination tourney? How does it work in soccer? Have we made the final 32 or anything at this point?

I'm not sure there's an anti-north bias in soccer. Akron won a title. IU is a powerhouse. Louisville has been to the title game. There's no reason Xavier cannot succeed in soccer.

There are 32 teams remaining. From here on, it operates the same as the basketball tournament, elimination wise.

48 teams make it with the top 16 getting byes. 32 teams left in a single elimination tourney.
