We should have had a "Pick the Snowfall/School Closings" contest for today.

85-56 and XU goes to 2-0 on the season.

Was very impressed by the speed these ladies play at, it's all go, lots of ball movement and it seemed like every possesion went into the paint. That would explain the constant trips to the free throw line.

This will be a very fun team to watch this season!

I thought it was a lackluster first half, but a 25-1 run coming out of the the first media timeout of the second half put things away.

It seems like they have some good talent this year, but it seems like they have some work to do to come together as a team. Not surprising given how many new faces there are- even the only senior, Meleeka Kynard, is in her first year with the program- but I think that will be the challenge going forward.
I wonder if that may be one of the reasons for the hockey-style substitution pattern. Subs were usually 2, 3 or even 5 at a time. There were very few times when only one sub came in at a time.

Next one should be a good test- a Virginia team that beat Ohio State to open its season. This is about the time the knocked off Michigan in Ann Arbor last year. Maybe they can do it again.

Finally, anyone know what's up with Kayla Davis? It looked like she was there, but not dressed. She didn't play in the first game either.

Regarding Kayla, I don't remember the nature of the injury, but at the reception after the first game, she said she'd be back in short order.
