Per tradition, I am sharing my Saint Patrick's Week recipes.

I thought my favorite cocktail was the Sazerac, until I discovered the Vieux Carre which is made with rye whiskey. I tried and very much enjoyed a variation using Irish whiskey - thus was born the Vieux Carre au Dublin.



1 ounce Irish whiskey
1 ounce Cognac
1 ounce sweet vermouth
1 barspoon (1 teaspoon) Bénédictine liqueur
1 dash Peychaud's bitters
1 dash Angostura bitters
Ice
Lemon twist, for garnish


Serve either chilled up or on the rocks. Adjust the ratios to taste. I will go more 2-3 parts whiskey to 1 part Cognac and 1 part sweet vermouth. The Benedictine is rather sweet so a little goes a long way. Both kinds of bitters is not a must.

Gonzaga stomped on Ohio State earlier in the year by 27, wouldn't count on OSU too too much, hell they beat Creighton by almost 20 as well, they're definitely a scary match up.
