He's had 3 birdies on the back 9 to -2; barring an implosion on the 9th hole (started on #10 today) he should be good to advance to the weekend.
Pope is also above the cutline at even par; he's had 3 birdies and a bogey so far today.

From ESPN "expert" picks for this weekend:
Michael Collins, ESPN.com senior golf analyst: Jason Kokrak
It's time for the caddie to make a charge. No one had better copy this pick or I could go on a John Daly-like rant about it being fixed! (Not really, but it sounds like a good threat, ha ha.) Kokrak's game started coming into form this time last year when he finished tied for 14th at the Valspar Championship and followed it up with a fourth-place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. This year, his first top-10 finish happened ... at Valspar (T-7)! So his game is there, but he's still hungry for a win. Now he's gets back to a course that fits both his eye and his game. Seems like a winning combo to me.

It was also a lot of fun to watch rickie fowlers bikini model girlfriend...yowza. not that I necessarily minded but couldn't she have dressed a tiny bit more appropriate than cut off Jean shorts and a shirt that had trouble staying on her body?

Yeah, that was a little dicey there, as far as the Tour probably is concerned. The major exchange of tongue on the way off the 17th hole also will make the highlight reel. The interesting part is that Rickie's mother, sister and maybe the girlfriend left for the airport, only to be texted that he got on his run. They decided to chuck their flight and got a Tour shuttle back to Ponte Vedra to witness the win.
Going into the final round, with so many players bunched at the top, it seemed virtually inevitable that a playoff would end up taking place yesterday.
There was some extraordinary golf played on the back nine yesterday, especially from Rickie, obviously. But the playoff was a sight to behold. It was won by Fowler, but only after Kisner, Garcia and Fowler pushed each other to the brink of making that next great, needed golf shot. Those three were razors in that playoff, perhaps with the lone exception being their drives on 16 to start the playoff. After that, they answered each other shot for shot until the narrowest of margins knocked out Sergio, with Kisner simply falling to a brilliant tee shot by Fowler on 17.
This will go down as the best Players ever. It may go down as one of the best golf tournaments ever.

Sad that those ragged "shorts" probably cost a couple hundred. Give me some bleach, a box cutter and a pair a scissors and I could do the same. Save your old levi's.

I had a 69 RS. Yellow with black stripes. Black vinyl roof. 327 with rare 3 speed manual on the floor. No power steering or power brakes. A guy who owned a service station near cross county & kenwood bought it. He was into camaro's. Iconic car, but heavy to drive. Personally I'd buy something a lot newer with the coin a 69 costs.

Starting to wonder if it is something between the ears with Kokrak all of a sudden. +4 and a missed cut at Memorial, I think that makes 4-5 missed cuts in a row for him. I hope he can turn it around soon. I wonder if it would do him some good to take a couple of weeks off?

I would guess that Caddy's have a small base and then a percentage (5% or less guaranteed) of the winnings. Overall I'd be surprised if expenses exceeded 20% of total take.

Last I heard, caddies on the PGA tour on average make the following-
$1200 a week base.
5% of winnings bonus if they make the cut.
7% for a top 10.
10% for a win

So I was kind of bored and decided to calculate an estimated compensation that Kokrak's caddy has pulled in. Based off of the $940k Kokrak has made from 10/12/2014 thru this past weekend's tournament, I calculated his caddy has made roughly $102,000 during that same period. Calculation is as follows:

I am sure caddies have a lot of expenses that probably come out of their own pocket, but that is a pretty solid living to carry a golf bag in a 9-10 month period. I am extremely jealous. Does the above calculation seem about right? Does the caddy get paid $1,200 EVERY week of the year, or only the weeks that their player is actually playing? And lastly, does the caddy get any cut of their player's sponsorship(s) proceeds? Just curious about the whole caddy compensation process.
94GRAD
07-07-2015, 10:02 AM
Gets the $1200 only the weeks they play and the caddy is responsible for ALL their expenses. Travel, hotel, health insurance and taxes. Also take into consideration he is caddying for a better than average player. Majority of caddies don't make anywhere near that amount. They gets nothing of the players sponsorship money but they are allowed to try and get their own sponsorship deals. Check out what hat/visor a caddy is wearing, they're getting a little something from that company.

Today would be a good opportunity for Jason to get a top-10 finish. He's had a couple of good rounds this weekend at the Quicken Loans National (Tiger Woods' annual event). He's currently 80th in the FedEx Cup standings (which is good enough to participate in the Barclays and Deutsche Bank events).

Jason is -1 through the 1st round at the Wyndham Championship; he's going to need a better round tomorrow if he's going to make the cut and pick up some additional FedEx Cup points going into the playoff next weekend.
Tiger Woods is also trying to make a last-ditch effort to make the playoffs as well. He would need an outright win this weekend to qualify, although there is a chance he could move on if he gets an outright 2nd place finish (not a tie for 2nd).
