Retire # 10 while you're at it. I don't care if it's with Steve Thomas or not. Sato deserves to have his jersey hanging in the rafters. 2,000 pts and almost 900 rebounds while being 6'5 is amazing. Was and always will be my favorite player.
Definitely one of my all time favorites. Is there a rule that you have to be ten years out to make the HOF? Because if not, this should have already happened.
Does this mean Sato's career at Valencia is coming to an end? It's a long trip in February end of season.
Retiring 10 is a divisive issue, and its not going to happen. Time to let go.
Why must every honor and jersey retirement happen RIGHT NOW? Enoying Sato's personality and performance as a Muskie warrior was such a pleasure, as are the memories. Why that isn't sufficient, why must any perceived delay in instant gratification be cause for heartburn?

No heartburn at all. Just think he deserves it. Not many guys are gonna put up those kind of numbers. 5th in scoring and 8th in rebounding.

Actually, he is 3rd all-time in scoring and 8th all-time in rebounding!! All-time record for consecutive starts and all-time leader for most 3's made in a career.
Helped lead Xavier to first ever Elite 8.
Number 10 needs retired!

Why does the fact that someone wants a jersey retired make your ass itch so much? Let it go.

Five years, also I think some delays occur due to a matter of coordinating schedules.

Awesome news. Really enjoyed his career. I appreciate his numbers even more now that he has bee gone for a while. Helluva player for X. Might even be a better person.

Probably my favorite X player ever, defense, rebounding, and a 3 point threat. He and Lionel were "the run".

I loved Sato as player. His first couple years were especially exciting with many of the three's he would rain down...he was still a new player, so you never knew if he'd hit it or not. He often did! Xavier was a scrappy team then and he made it all the more fun to watch.
I still feel so bad for him the way the run ended, as he was a warrior.
