I was guessing FSOhio since it didn't appear anywhere else but I'm not sure what the L would stand for.

Lots of Saturday options to make the trip with my girlfriend. Want to show her X live for the first time. Will be back later looking to buy two really good tickets! Ha

Interesting that ALL of the Big East home games played on Saturday are played in the afternoon... and 6 out of the 9 league home games are on Saturdays.

I'm happy that Xavier plays at DePAul on a Saturday this year. Last year's afternoon game on MLK didn't really work for me.
I love seeing 'The Crosstown Shootout' back on the schedule. Any particular reason it's so late this year?

I'm liking it!
Lots of Saturday games, and the Butler road game is at 2pm on a Saturday, that's doable. How hard a ticket is that game?
Not liking NYE at 10PM - I can cancel all other NYE plans? Will they be passing out champagne at Cintas at Midnight? And its Georgetown to, sothat is a must go.
I also thought I read Norwood for a moment.
Let's see Beer Fest is usually Feb 13 - so thanks for at least making the game on Sat at 3pm for recovery sake.

Coaster,
You will have no problems getting a ticket to Butler if you don't mind sitting higher up. There were around 150 of us there last year, and we drowned out the Butler crowd in the lower bowl.

Yeah, it's very easy and usually a very sizable X contingent.

With Saturday as a work day for me, I'm going to be thankful that they have the Fox Sports Go app available for Time Warner now.
I do like that the home finale against Villanova will be on the national Fox network; that could be for the regular season championship if everything goes right this season.

So, NYE and the ref's swallow their whistles.
Game is over at 11:47.
Do you stay and hope there's a semi-party at the 'tas with ball drop on the screen and beer stations still open at 12?
Or, are you one of 8,246 people who run up the hill and squeeze into Dana's?

I'm looking for Jalen to drop(slam) a ball through the hoop at the stroke of midnight to seal a victory.

This may have already been discussed so I apologize if it has. However, I got to say I am pretty disappointed in the non-conference slate this year. I understand that we are in the Big East now and so we don't need to necessarily go out and play a great non-conference schedule, but it would be great if we could play a couple of marquee games. It would be great to have those for rpi purposes, tournament seeding, and prepare our players for the conference portion of the schedule. Alabama is garbage, Missouri is still probably a year away from being a tournament team, and UC is probably going to be down a bit this year. I am not saying we need to go out and play Kentucky, Louisville, Duke and UNC all in the same year, but a couple of probable tourney type teams would be nice.

I do think that this year is still kind of a transition year into the BE scheduling wise. Next year we start the Gavitt Tipoff Challenge, which should hopefully add a marquee non-con game to the schedule. But I do agree, the Committee has been paying a lot of attention to non-con games lately (SMU) and it's critical to play some probable turnery teams like you said.

We have 7 new players (more than 1/2 our scholarships!) who will play their first game for Xavier this fall. The vast majority of the non-con schedule comes at the beginning of the season when the coaching staff is still trying to get a feel of what each of those kids can do and how they will mesh with their teammates. I believe it was prudent to schedule a bit down from prior years, especially when we were in the A-10 when there were 4-5 members who were RPI killers, some of whom we had to play twice.
If the new kids come around and provide the talent, shooting, and additional depth we hope to see this year, we could still make the NCAA Tourney even if our seeding might suffer a bit because of the less highly rated teams on our non-con schedule. We just have to make the Tourney and then leave it up to our coaching staff and players to prove the Selection Committee wrong.

I'm surprised to hear you say that. Take a closer look at Murray State and SF Austin if you're afraid we are not playing enough quality competition.

Took me awhile to figure it out too but it is Fox Sports - Local meaning Fox Sports Net. Bummer for me since I spend January in South Carolina. Three games are on Fox Sports - Local in January and even the Sports bars might not be able to pick those up. Maybe I can get those on the new online Fox Sports Go. Who knows?

I believe this schedule will work out just right considering how many players are new to D1 basketball as well as some of the returning players who need a confidence boost. I also like the Murray St. game. They take basketball pretty serious there and have a good program. I don't know if the RPI will reflect that.
