Does anyone have any information on when the 2014-15 Big East Men's basketball schedule will be released? It looks like it was the first week in September last year.

Hoping for a repeat King Day game vs. DePaul.

It's a tradition for crying out loud!

BIG EAST Conference @BIGEAST
Prior to full MBB schedule release, the conference confirms that the season will again tip off with a 5-game NYE marathon on @FOXSports1

Heard this last week (though was unsure we would be the midnight ending game).

That kind of sucks. I don't want to be playing one of our biggest game while the ball drops. It will severely limit my NYE plans and I already have to be ready to go for the Winter Classic the next day. I'll have to see if I can get them to reconsider.

Glad to see X and GTown as the signature matchup. 10p, that's kinda rough though.

Much more balanced in terms or home/road this year.

Cintas on national tv FOX vs Villanova.

Odd that we play the Johnnies twice in 9 days.

I'm starting to really worry about my New Year's plans. I take New Year's very seriously and I really don't want to be stressed out with what will likely be a close game while I'm trying to get some buzzer beaters of my own in to close out a very mediocre 2014. Since Georgetown is local, I will surely be able to watch the game wherever I am, but I will also surely be around a lot more Georgetown support than Xavier support. The game will probably be at its peak while I'm trying to get drunk enough to make some calculated mistakes and I don't want that conflict in focus. This is going to be a very tricky thing to balance and I really don't need that on my plate for the last thing I do all year.

The BIG EAST coverage on the @FOXTV broadcast network has increased to at least eight games all on weekends.

This is really good to see.

oh crap, i forgot about the Winter Classic in conjunction with this. Well that could be a fun 24 hours of sports. Hell last time they beat Florida on NYE, which started off my Pittsburgh WC trip in a great note. Here's to the same outcome!

DVR it and watch it with aspirin and Gatorade the next morning. That's my plan.

Having season tickets, the NYE game really blows. NYE is the one time that a lot of my friends come into town and we can all get together and go out. As much as I love Xaviwr basketball I don't want to be at a game on midnight of NYE. Probably will be the only game I don't go to

I'm surprised there are so many amateurs in this crowd. Going out on NYE?!? Why don't you go to Vegas for the first week of the NCAA Tournament while you're at it?

Some of us are not married with kids and can still bring it strong for the big events. And I would love to be in Vegas during the first week of the tourney.

UC's call because of their horseshit conference. Probably will remain in February when they host for the foreseeable future. X's home games in the series will be before Christmas as per usual. Which will lead to all kinds of inconvenience for us pedants since there will be two 2015 shootouts, none in 2016, two in 2017, etc. My understanding is that this was the compromise we permitted to ensure the games would be back to campus sites.

Well that sucks. How much of a problem is having a big nonconference game like this in the middle of February going to affect us? I know coaches bitch about it all the time, but how much of it is real?

We played Memphis in February two years ago. Why would it be a problem?

I'm guessing it was probably more welcome when we were still playing an A10 conference schedule than now. We used to throw our SEC games in there in February sometimes too.

To try and stay in the limelight perhaps after a few weeks of Fordham, Charlotte, LaSalle and Dayton?

Precisely. Chance at a big quality win in February was rarer then.

Georgetown seems to play a big non conference game in the middle of the conference schedule fairly often. It's never hurt us, it normally helps. Michigan St last year for instance. Last few times we played Duke at home were in the middle of conference season and that was during the height of the BE dominance.

Absolutely. Trophy Wife will be along with our friends. We're planning on staying in the "Official Xavier Hotel", wherever that is.
