Preseason NIT Down to Eight Teams

So, apparently the new format will be four major teams who will play one game on campus against a lower level crappy team, and then advance to the semifinals no matter what.

The four other crappy teams, win or lose, will play in a doubleheader on Thanksgiving day, with the semifinals being on Wednesday, and the 3rd place/championship being on Friday. This year, it's Georgia v Gonzaga and the Johnnies against Minnesota. Apparently they're still looking for the four crappy teams.

I remember liking the NIT a lot more before the NCAA took it over.

That may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard...why would the "lower" team even agree to play? I'd ask them to kiss my ass on principle alone.

What the heck? Let the winner advance! This is silly. Forget ratings or anything else, if you're the favorite playing a lesser team at home and you lose, well.... YOU LOSE.
