I'm guessing a bunch of us don't go by the Enquirer much, so thought I'd post this by Shannon yesterday.

If there was one player who really shined, Mack said it was sophomore Jalen Reynolds. Throughout the four games, the 6-foot-9 forward averaged 13.3 points and 10.8 rebounds in 18.8 minutes.

"I thought Jalen was our most consistent player. He rebounded the ball extremely well," Mack said. "I thought he was a lot more comfortable on both ends of the floor, and we're going to need that a lot this year."

Freshman Sean O'Mara also made an impression. The 6-9 forward/center may have been the least heralded recruit in this year's class but O'Mara, who has the benefit of competing in practices with big-bodied veterans like Stainbrook and James Farr, drew attention through his relentless pursuit of the ball on offense and defense.

This trip has produced countless benefits for the team, staff, and program. What a great opportunity for the players to work with each other in a game-type atmosphere, for the coaches to evaluate against different teams, and for the program to show potential recruits the type of things that Xavier does for their players.

Really thrilled that the timing of this trip with six freshman plus Abell, took place now. I think this will certainly show once this season begins.

Really excited by the thought of a team that connects with each other. I feel like we've missed that the past few seasons. I'm hoping that makes a difference on the court.

I have a feeling Jalen Reynolds is going to become one of my favorites this year. I'm expecting a monster season from the big guy and I think the other Big East fans are going to HATE him. Our front court should be the class of the conference, especially if Farr takes that next step.
