They are removing half of the train track overpass this weekend.

Must be a good article when you have to go to the comments section to find the reason for the closing (which is to ultimately clear space for the new MLK interchange).

Check that thing out on Google maps. It is the overpass from nowhere to nowhere. I come down 71 every morning and don't know that I've ever noticed it. I'll have to check it out. I'm sure it will be more noticable when it's only half there.

The vegetation is overtaking the bridge. I am surprised this hasn't been used as a place to hang out for kids (and to get in trouble.)

I drove south on 71 North not too far from there one time. I got off work at UPS and was trying to get home only to find a nasty snow storm waiting for me. The ice and gravity won on a hilly section and I slid backwards with truckers and cops blowing past me in the opposite direction. Maybe this should have gone in the winter vs summer thread.... you can guess where I stand.

I don't think the ice was the problem here....

if you look just east of Fredonia to the east of the the overpass, you can see where kids or homeless or someone is hanging out making a huge mess.

I was going towards Dana's in the early morning, not away from Dana's in the early morning.

As a teenager I was stopped dead at a red light in Buffalo in the winter when the wind blew and my car started to slide into the guy next to me. The road has a pitch for drainage. He saw me coming and drove off. I was glad he did as I had driven/been blown into a ditch a week earlier and couldn't bear to make it a weekly event at my household! Hey, it happens! Yep, more summer vs winter ammo.
