Pretty good article on Cleveland.com. Highlights the recruiting process and has a nice photo gallery of X.

That is one of the best, unbiased, straight reporting pieces on basketball recruiting and the sport in general I have ever read. There was a helluva lot of work involved. Xavier sure comes off looking good in this one.

As usual, Cleveland comes through again. You're welcome Cincinnati. :-)
8 Sweet 16's?
Did they mean 16 Elite 8's? That sounds even better! (As long as we're making stuff up.)
Really good article, and I'd love to know what's on those recruiting cards. It's like the NFL draft, they always say "we got the guy we wanted". They never tell you who they really wanted. I always wonder who they really covet and who are guys they "settle" for at a certain position due to need in a given year. This years class has a lot of guys who register pretty high on my thrill meter.
Not that they take guys they don't want, but which players are they elated about as opposed to pleased with to some degree. And who were they close to getting who broke their hearts?

I bet knowing this was gonna be an article, Mack kept a few of his secrets. This class makes him one of the top recruiters in the country imo. I jumped around and looked at some of his targets for the year after this and things look like its gonna get even better.

I think that by doing this article it shows how strong Mack is after Kipper Nichols. The author is following Nichols through his recruitment. The research for this piece is on the heals of Kipper visiting campus. Just a random opinion...but hey, its the internet!

Actually the Plain Dealer started following Kipper, a St. Eds kid, and Esa Ahmad, a Shaker Heights kid, and their recruitment a few months ago. This is part of the continuing series of articles. Xavier was the one school that opened up the "vault" so to speak to let the author behind the scenes.
This is great pub for the school up here in Northeast Ohio.
8 Sweet 16's?
I think he was referring to how many Sweet 16s we will have by the time this year's recruiting class are upperclassmen.

Yes he was out here with the team for the Anaheim Tourney in 2012. (Sr. Rose was as well, but she's in more of a figurehead capacity now.)

From that picture with Calipari at Joseph Beth's I'm going to assume Mack has got her working on scheduling now.
Good read. Thanks for sharing! I love the high school boys.
Fixed.
Good read, thanks for posting powerofx!

Just one more reason for the Xavier bookstore to step it up!
