Ugh. Google capital flight out of Russia. It's not "people" leaving Russia, it's investment leaving, it's billions and billions not investing there. Russia was a top 3 emerging market, with China and India. Western companies are cutting out Russia, the volatility is a bad thing and no international company wants that.

When people mock what the US does with sanctions, they really have no idea what they are talking about. If sanctions didn't have an effect, then Putin wouldn't be reacting with his foodstuffs embargo. Russia is getting slammed, and slammed in a huge way. Go to the markets, look at the Russian market and make your own assessment. It's down, and down big. Most people don't see that because it doesn't make the news, but it has a huge effect.
