It finally happened. The SEC Tournament is now being played west of the Mississippi River. Attendance has been rough lately, but I think they'll discover that no one in Saint Louis cares about the SEC either.

Kentucky can sell out St. Louis by themselves.

Kentucky can sell out St. Louis by themselves.

Probably, but I think Lexington is closer to Atlanta than Saint Louis, and at least several of the other schools in the SEC are within the proximity of Atlanta as well.

The western Kentucky border is a helluva lot closer to St. Louis than the southern Kentucky border is to Atlanta.

And Arkansas is the only other SEC school that really cares about basketball. St. Louis is as good or better for Hawg fans, too.

I guess. It just seems weird, though. The SEC Tournament is in.....Saint Louis. I can't help but wonder how many people in the SEC foot print don't even know where Saint Louis is.

Does that mean the MVC is moving "Arch Madness"?

Arch Madness is the weekend prior.

Arch Madness is the weekend prior.

Yes, but I wonder if they will still do both?

Arky, TAM, Mizzu had prob happy. The Misses, Vandy and LSU are indifferent. Also it is just part of the rotation now with Tampa and Nashville. I think there could be more meaning to this. There was talk of Texas and the Oklahoma's looking at the SEC a while back.

Speaking of the MVC, this is interesting tidbit "The future of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament, which will celebrate its 25-year anniversary in St. Louis in 2015, is unknown. The tournament has invited five cities — Kansas City, Chicago, Indianapolis, Las Vegas and St. Louis — to bid on the tournament beyond 2015."

I cannot imagine any reason why they wouldn't. Unless the Valley wants to go elsewhere, and that would be shocking (no pun intended).

Can't imagine the Valley would actually want to go to Vegas, but what do I know.

How many tournaments does Vegas host now? 3? 4?

Pac Twelve, WAC, Mountain West, West Coast.......I'm missing one.

Was the Big West in Vegas??

Big West has been played in Anaheim for quite some time.

I think that's all of the tournaments in Vegas. Orleans Arena hosts the West Coast and WAC; Thomas & Mack has the Mtn West, and there's a newer place that has the Pac-12.

Pac-12 is at the MGM Grand.

MGM Grand.

One of the few places better than MSG.

It isn't. There's no direct route to Atlanta from Lexington, but it's a straight shot on 64 to St. Louis. And that's really the farthest point east for the majority of in-state Kentucky fans, as east of Lexington is hardly populated.

Someone should introduce you to Interstate 75.

Someone should introduce you to Interstate "I suddenly detour around national parks and forests" 75.

Fixed that for you :)

MVC is played at the Scottrade Center where the Blues play, is that where the SEC tourney will be played? I know in Atlanta they played in the Georgia Dome, will they play the SEC tournament at the Edwards Jones Dome in St. Louis? I have no idea what ind of crowd the tournament draws.
