I think I heard that he could easily make an NBA team, but he has such a good life (and compensation) that he might not even be interested. I don't know if that was said with any insider information but just with the understanding of how well taken care of the better players in Europe are.

I just see it, as an athlete, you want to play against the best to test your skill. The Europe money will continue to be available (I'm assuming). I just lack understanding on why not to just try your damnest and see what happens

Fringe guys like Sato and Justin stay in Europe because the money is much better for them. They'll make twice what they would make in the NBA.

You must have misunderstood my premise...money will still be there; take shot to play with best and succeed. I just see the risk as minimal.

They only have so long to maximize their earnings. Then they are in their mid 30's (if they are lucky) and they are done with basketball. The money will not always "still be there".
