I used to do one of these on D&V and some people found it helpful, so I figured I'd start one here. If the mods can sticky this, it would be great, I'll get in and update as things change.

Thanks!

Everywhere I've looked shows Edmund Sumner listed at 6'4 though

Got that from the Scout database, he may well have grown.

I still think we have a tournament team as of right now. The freshman will get plenty of minutes and will hopefully mature by March. A solid 5th year transfer or JUCO addition would be really helpful though.

Looks like more improved from the shooting aspect of the game. Which is what we need......and that does not include Myles Davis.....who might find himself buried on the bench.

Yea he has gone through a growth spurt the past year. He's like 6'5 now.

I also believe that Semaj only had until April 15th or 16th to withdraw from the draft and be NCAA eligible. The 27th is the last day that a player can declare for the draft though.

He hasn't filled out any paperwork or hired an agent, so at this point I think he's only informally declared.

I know better than to get my hopes up, but I keep thinking of how special it could be with Semaj attacking the rim, Stain in the post to finish or pass out and real shooting threats taking open threes from the arc. Hey, I'm trying to have happy thoughts, ok? Last year teams all just collapsed into the paint on D - because they could.

Where do we stand w the 15-16 roster? My uneducated math would suggest we have 2 open scholarships? Lost Stainbrook, Davis and Randolph. Added Gates so far

That is what my uneducated math says as well. Also, I think that is fine. We also add London and Sumner, so it may be wise to balance out the classes a little bit at this point and not add anyone else unless that 5th year senior wants to play.

Next Year we have:

3 Freshmen
4 Sophomores
2 Juniors
2 Seniors

Though I agree with keeping the classes balanced, If 13 seniors meant Xavier's chances of getting to the NC go up to 75%, then give me 13 seniors. :)

Correct me if I am wrong, but schools get 13 scholarships?

Incoming freshmen - Jones
Freshmen/redshirt freshmen - London, Sumner, Gates (3)
Sophomores - Macura, Bluiett, Austin Jr., O'Mara (4)
Juniors - Davis, Reynolds, Gaston (sitting out this year as transfer but using scholarship) (3)
Seniors - Farr, Abel (2)

That puts them at 12 being used this year....

Officially that means they have 3 spots open for next year and 1 is already spoken for by T. Jones. I have heard several rumors that Reynolds is almost surely leaving after this season since he is old for his class and will go pro. So I am guessing they will recruit as many as 3-4 for 2016?
