Basketball team headed to Brazil this summer

The Xavier University men’s basketball will have the unique opportunity to participate in a nine-day cultural and athletic trip to Brazil in August. The Musketeers, who will depart from Cincinnati on Aug. 3, will be based out of Rio de Janeiro for the duration of their trip until their return on Aug. 12.

I saw a report on Brazil on CBS Sunday Morning or some other show I'm much too young to already be watching and it's a hot mess down there - and not in a good way. Riots break out on a regular basis, especially in Rio where the poor are being forced out of their homes in order to build the arenas for the 2016 games. The crime rate is ridiculous. Just not a good place to be. Stay safe, boys!

I had a friend who used to do business in Brazil regularly -- referred to the women as shockingly casual about being down for the deed. He had a very good time on most of his trips there, based on the stories I heard.

I have a few acquaintances who are world travelers. They enjoyed Brazil and the "sights" so much they decided to travel to Brazil each year. They told unbelievable stories of the women there, said they were some of the most beautiful they had ever seen. Very congenial to Americans hoping the Americans would be their ticket out of the country.


I have done a fair amount of traveling within the US and I would say my favorite places for enjoying the sights are San Diego and Chicago. Go to Chicago a lot because it's so close. My friends and I now refer to Chicago as "per capita" because there are so many beautiful women.

I went to Rio last October...

We did not "visit" the favelas (they give tours through them... as if it were a zoo... SMH in disgust...) but we did walk all over the city both during the day and late into the night and took the subways without any problems whatsoever. Just stay with your group. Most of the problems with tourists are in Sao Paulo. In other words, the authorities protect the money train that is Copacabana and Ipanema.

What everyone is saying about the beaches is true. The women know what men like and take gawking as a compliment. It got to the point where I began to feel sorry for the g-strings that were holding on for dear life. They are interested in American men (I ended up meeting up with the 20-something secks-pot I sat next to on the plane) but not as much as Eastern Europe. The most beautiful women I have ever seen are in Bucharest Romania. The best part... when they find out you're American, they compete for you and buy you drinks! I sh!t you not. It's paradise.

That being said... if you want to see what the shady under belly of Rio looks like, you should check out the movie "City of God." It is ranked #21 on imdb's all time best movie list. It's all in Portuguese with subtitles, but well worth the watch if you like gangster movies. Warning... there's one scene that is particularly gut wrenching.
