Park Tudor is playing right now. It's available on-line.
Park Tudor 35 Westview 28 at half. Trevon is ridiculously good...and boy can he shoot. 3 threes in the last 4 minutes of the half plus a two shot foul. He has 18 of Park Tudor's points at half.

Bluiett has a really complete game. Step back threes, fast break finishes, steals, rebounding, great passes. The dude can flat out play.

Only question I have is defense

My Gawd. Can these guys SHOOT!
Trevon isn't having to play much defense in this game, though. That is always the biggest challenge for a freshman.

Trevon finishes with 38 - new record for state final

38 and 11.
Good stuff, but as we all know. Big Time D1 basketball is a whole 'nuther deal. He'll need to get stronger, be a better defender and learn techniques like better box outs...but man, the tools are there.
84-57 Park Tudor. Impressive.

The kid's a three time State Champion and will more than likely not be named Mr. Basketball since he isn't going to IU (or UK).
Congrats Trevon!

Cage was Mr. Basketball. I think the Jordan game and Mcd's are where you see more of the UK, Duke bias.
Really looking forward to seeing this kid next year. Finally we'll starts seeing some shooters again in the program.

Mr. Basketball is extremely competitive in Indiana this season. Bluiett, Blackmon Jr., and Lyles all have legit arguments to win. At least there isn't a Zeller this season because the award would've already been given to him.

When Cody won over Marquise Teague? Seems like they got it right to me.

First high school game I have watched in its entirety in eons. Like all Indiana and Kentucky high schoolers, they are shooters.
But Bluiett is remarkable, and at 6-6 he moves extremely well, and is fundamentally sound in all aspects of the game.
I will go on record and say this. I'll swap a Chiston every day of the week for a Blueitt. His upside is oh so mught higher than Christon was at the same stage.

If Christon had more SHOOTERS on the floor with him,his stats would have been so much better. If he were to return for another year, the SHOOTERS in this Freshmen class by spreading the floor, could make life very good for him.

If CHRISTON could shoot he and his stats would have been so much better.

I love how everyone is knocking Semaj now that he has decided to turn pro. A week ago, he was the greatest ever.

I don't think that's correct at all. I highly doubt we will be talking about Trevon turning pro a year or two into his Xavier career.

My opinion on Semaj has been very consistent. Going into this season I said he has potential but needed to show a greatly improved shot and better decision-making. Well, as he prepares to play pro ball, there are apparently two major concerns about him: his ability to shoot and his decision-making. I hope he does well as a pro and would love to see him realize his dream of playing in the NBA. Sure, I think it's a dumb decision and, if you read between the lines on Mack's comments, his own coach doesn't seem to think he's ready. But my opinion on his game has nothing to do with him leaving early.
And, while I do agree with NOKOOLAID that having shooters around him would have helped with his numbers, I think a lot of people give him a free pass by putting the blame on everyone else. Wouldn't it have helped Semaj tremendously if he was a legit threat from the outside and teams didn't basically dare him to shoot from out there? Guard him out top and risk the drive-by or back off and risk him knocking down a 3...that would have been a very tough decision if he actually developed from the outside. But teams literally gave him 5-10 feet of space at times knowing he wasn't a threat.
But if you want to think my opinion has changed on him just because he's leaving early, feel free. You would be wrong, but you're entitled to your opinion.

Semaj worked hard and developed his mid-game and his foul shooting over what it was when he was a freshman. He has always had the ability to drive and finish through contact.....something most freshman can not do. He showed flashes of being able to shot from beyond the arc, but did not develop into enough of a consistent threat in that area. From what I could see, he was an adequate defender, if not a great one. I sincerely wish him well and thank him for his contributions over the last two years.
However, in today's college basketball world, the need to have several outside threats is a given. The game has developed into more of a Euopean model, which does not rely on a big man in the low post and guards driving to the basket. Even in fast break situations players are flaring to the 3-point line and not just filling the lanes looking for a layup. Semaj has NOT YET shown that he can play this type of game, but I wouldn't bet against him developing it in the future. When he does he will be deadly, and could develop into a professional star.
As far as the incoming players....which is easier? To start with a good to great outside shot and develop the drive game or start as a slasher/driver and develop the outside shot? Which is more valuable in today's game...the driver or the shooter? Guess it depends on the system a coach ultimately runs. But a coach once said "great shooting covers a multiple of sins". X certainly needed better shooter this past year, didn't they?
Before we induct any of the incoming players into the HOF, let's see them play in a X uniform, OK?

I thought in the 2nd half of the season he played great defense. In fact he hustled his butt off on defense.

People on here turn on a dime. One second your the greatest ever, then you make a personal decision they dont agree with, and you are garbage, not that good, a terrible decision maker, and didnt do much for the school.
Rough crowd.

Not true in my case. He just has more things to work on and I don't agree with the decision, but good luck to him and thanks of his efforts.

There are so many unknowns when a HS kid plays at college DI level. Even a 5-star recruit may not always turn out to be a good college player. I would take Semaj any time.

So based on one HS game, at the second level (3A, not 4A), in which he was 4-6 inches taller than his defender (I watched the game too), you pronounce that he is better at the same stage than an elite athlete who went on to star at the top prep school in the country (with Sampson, McGarry, Warren, Reynolds, others), was rated 20 slots higher by the recruiting sites, was A-10 ROY and XU's best player as a freshman, was first team BE as a sophomore and is borderline 1st round NBA after sophomore year. I like Bluiett a lot, though he is not an elite athlete, but prefer to wait until he is matched up with the equivalent of Warren, Sampson, Edwin, Bell, Henton before getting too excited, especially for freshman year.
I get the arguments, but I'm not going to worry about who's better - the apple or the orange. I will argue that I believe they would have complimented each other beautifully. And you can't prove me incorrect because, right or wrong, we'll never find out. (OK, all players have the potential for bust... but I don't want to argue with myself.)

Thought I remember reading somewhere Bluiett is in 3 point contest. Is this correct? If so when is it and is it on TV
