For advance planning:

Next year the Final Four is at Lucas Oil, and Xavier has a packed and stacked recruiting class. Sounds like great reasons to try for Final Four tickets.

Just go to www.ncaa.com and click on "Tickets and Hospitality" and then "2015 Final Four Tickets"

The seats that they are putting on lottery are the upper upper (highest seating tier of Lucas Oil) - all the way around the stadium - and the 3 game pass is $190. You can try to get up to 4 seats, and there is a $20 fee to enter the lottery. (Also, they hold your entire seat purchase as a deposit, until the lottery winners are pulled - in September) Nice gig for the NCAA.

This year they also state your tickets will be issued via Flash Seats - what that means is there are NO tickets, instead the ushers at the gate will scan the credit card you entered the lottery with, and then you will get a receipt that tells you where your seats are. Talk about anti-scalping provisions.

Anyway, I threw my hat in the ring. "Somebody's gotta win, might as well be me."

You mean you, AND XAVIER? Thanks for the info, that's bucket list stuff. Always worth a try...

Well, the news has come As their representative told me "I've got good news and I've got bad news" The good news is we have issued you a refund for $760, the bad news is this means you were not selected for this ticketing opportunity":

So - I have a hotel room less than 10 miles from Lucas Oil, any interest in it (assuming the hotel will let me transfer the reservation) before I call the hotel to release the reservation?

The answer here is simple: go to Stub Hub, add a couple zeroes to the $760 dollars, and use the hotel room yourself. I've used Stub Hub effectively, and that's about how it works. (Maybe that's not really effective...)
