2014 Xavier -- Elite 8 Team!

Been reading this a while, but this is my first post as you can see. Be nice. I was talking to a friend and he came up with some coincidences between this team and the one from 10 years ago. They were pretty amusing so I thought I'd share it here. (I haven't read too many threads since the bracket came out yesterday, so forgive me if this is repeated...)

Play-In- Xavier had to win the A-10 Tournament to make it in 10 years ago. This year, they have to win in Dayton to make it to the 'second round'.
Playing NC State -- Xavier is 2-0 versus teams with a player who was teammates with Reynolds and Semaj in HS (St. John's twice)...
Playing St. Louis -- A pretty average Xavier team beat a similar St. Louis team last year.
Playing Louisville -- 10 years ago, Xavier and Louisville played in the NCAA Tournament in Orlando. This year - same tournament, same city, same result.
Playing Wichita State -- Xavier handed the first loss to the last team to go undefeated in the regular season... 10 years ago. Same this year.

Elite 8 -- possibly against Duke... Never mind.

And the leading scorer this year is #0. 10 years ago it was not Sato, it was also #0.

Only difference is that team had 4 guys who could consistently knock down three's. Sato, Chalmers, Finn and Doellman. Chalmers, Finn and Sato were also extremely hot heading into that tournament. This team lacks what they had.

Certainly nice to reminisce about 2004, but this is a different team in a different year. However, I like all other X fans can only hope for a repeat, but not optimistic.
