Washington State hanging tough with Stanford. Loss for Stanford and their bubble could burst. WSU down 1 with 15 to go

Lot of bubble teams to root against, let's just hope we take care of business and don't have to worry about anybody else!

This m ay be blasphemous to some, but shouldn't UC's game tonight at 7 be listed as a game that improves out profile? It isn't on the list at all (which may or may not be on purpose)

Simple. All the bubble teams around us, Pitt, KState, the dump, SMU, Arkansas, etc. have to lose and all of the teams that can help our profile have to win. Solved.

Speaking of, does anyone know when FS1 plans on getting their shit together and offering their mobile video app to the major TV provider's customers?
I have three screens plus a phone in my office and I'd love to be able to put the Big East games on one, but alas I don't have access to any of the no name cable services they currently provide access for. Hell, the only one I've even heard of is AT&T U-Verse (The others are midcontinent, optimum, suddenlink, and wow!).
Some folks around my office were talking about how excited they were to watch the Big East tourney this afternoon only to realize we have no way of doing so.

This is the weekend to be in Vegas. Wish I was there now. For some reason, people haven't caught on to how fantastic this weekend is basketball-wise and prefer to be out there next week. So this week is not particularly crowded out there. It's awesome.

Totally agreed. Was just talking with my dad about this the other day. He wants to go out for the tournament next year. I told him we should do the conference tourney week instead.

Sweet Sixteen weekend is also underrated and not that crowded. Would highly recommend that as well if you want more meaningful though less plentiful basketball action.

I know none of us like Dayton.... but we really should be pulling for them to win tonight. They play St. Joe's and St. Joe's resume is awful. UD is pretty much a lock win or lose tonight, St. Joe's not so much.
**Nevermind, I thought they were playing SJU tonight not Fordham. Go Rams!!!

You think Dayton is a lock if they lose to Fordham in the A-10 preliminary rounds?!?
GoMuskies

Houston really needs to make a second half charge at old man Larry and SMU. They're probably a lock with a win today, and I'd prefer that not happen.

For gambling purposes I think the first weekend is better, because it's so much easier to make money from those lines. In the conferences tourneys there are just too many upsets and the teams know each other too well to find any good lines to play.
For all other reasons, this weekend or the second weekend (as you also mentioned) would be much better.

I can bet online for the good odds. I'm in Vegas for the "everything else".

Unfortunately, UD is treating Fordham like Fordham should be treated by any half decent team.

Mizzou up 1 with 3 minutes to go against Texas A&M. A loss there would eliminate them from any bubble hopes.

Hopefully the committee will take a long hard look at their resume. They are a home court hero who has 1 good win away from home and have 9 losses with a OOC SOS that is 290. RPI has fallen to 52.

SMU goes down to a 157 RPI and 134 Pomeroy rated Houston.
Officially on Bubble Watch. They played the RPI game well, tho. We were 49, they were 45 going into today.

SMU's resume? See Virginia Tech under Seth Greenburg.

You shouldn't be rewarded for a terrible non-conference schedule. Just ask Clemson and Virginia Tech from a few years ago. SMU, St. Joes, and Pitt are in more trouble than people think because of this.

- #26 in Kenpom and #32 in Sagarin, but they'll easily drop after this loss.
- 291st (!) non-conference SOS.
- 6-6 on the road but UConn (#28) is the only win against a top 100 team. Granted, @UConn is a really good win, but some of the teams have been god-awfully bad. #124 Wyoming is the only other road win that is respectable, though not very impressive (much like Alabama for Xavier).
- 12-6 conference record is only okay, considering how bad the lower half of that conference is.
- RPI top 50 4-5 record, one bad loss and one really bad loss
They have the makings of a tournament resume, except for that horrible non-conference schedule, but they certainly won't get seeded like the 6 or 7 seed that their AP ranking suggests. Because of that non-con schedule, though, I could see the NCAA making an example of them like they have done with teams in the past.

I wish they hadn't dug a 19 pt hole in the first half.
By the way, I bet Nova's loss is the worst RPI loss of any top 4 team (a guess).

I really cannot get the numbers in SMU's case. There is so much discrepancy between RPI, Pomeroy and Sagarin. Usually with such a horrible schedule, the Poeroys would be LOWER than the RPI. They're doing it with mirrors.

03-13-2014, 05:22 PM
They've annihilated the crappy teams, whereas RPI has just given them credit for the wins. I think its hard to consistently beat up bad teams like that, so you usually don't see that scenario.
