I must say without Matt, that surprises me. But I will take a one point win!
I'd even take a half point win, but that only happens for the people who have more invested than I do.

xavier shot over 50% in both games. we need something close and tighten the 3 point shot. marq doesn't shoot the ball well from deep but did in both games vs us.

Some of it was how we defended the three. After the @St. John's game, I remember pointing out how we gave late contests on the three-point attempts by mediocre shooters, whereas against Marquette we didn't even do that, instead leaving them wide-open. A wide open mediocre shooter turns into a decent shooter, but a semi-open mediocre shooter is still a mediocre shooter. Hopefully the three-point defense is more like the @St. John's game than the two previous Marquette match-ups.
I also think luck played a part. Their better shooters were sometimes nailing tough shots, and their mediocre shooters were shooting better than normal. For example, Steve Taylor has attempted 13 three-point shots all season but made only two. Those two makes? Both versus Xavier, 1-1 from 3 in each game. I mean, come on.

This is gonna be an ugly game I think
I just hope they are more ugly than we are
We cant let Garder go off and we have to force them to hit outside shots.

Marquette is now -1. I know next to nothing about gambling, but that can't be a good thing?

It's a fantastic thing if you want to bet on Xavier and have not yet put your money down.

Still holding steady at X +1, which is nice. The over is 136. Can you picture this being a 69-67 game? I'm thinking more like a 59-57 game, which means it will probably end up being 79-77.

If it is X +1, does that mean we are favored by 1? I am not a gambler so please forgive my ignorance...

Lol could be a good call, considering the past two games:
86-79
81-72

One point will get added to Xavier's score at the end. If X lost by 1, it becomes a tie.
That's actually kinda weird. Don't they usually do half-points to eliminate ties?

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I really have no idea what kind of scoring game it will be.
It's back to a pick 'em - maybe because of the Stainbrook news?
