Semaj was unanimous.

Kind of surprised Martin isn't on the list given his impressive conference run.

It's 5 plus the player of the year.

Note the legend at the bottom of the post. The honor accorded Semaj is even greater than first team. He and Doug McDermott were both unanimous so they added an extra place. That's a helluva honor for a sophomore.Ditto for Bryce Cotton

According to the ^ marking, the extra position was just in the second team and rookie team listings.

They added an extra spot to the second team due to a tie in voting, not the first team.

Really think Stain should have been better than honorable mention. He was one of, if not the best, centers in the league. While he didn't have crazy numbers, teams had to focus on stopping him more than anyone on our team, IMO. Our offense went through him, and he faced double team defense in the majority of the big east games. He is the best true big in the leage.

I just want him to be the best big in the tournament (if he's healthy enough to play without re-injury)

Strain was the ONLY player that is listed as a CENTER to make any off the teams....

First team is 1 forward and 5 guards. They didn't pick by position obviously.

They never do. I could see Stain vying for first-team honors next year.

Martin tweeted "pissed!"

Not sure if it's related but probably a good chance

My response was to the post that he should have been more than HM, because he was the best center in the league. The people picking, the teams agreed...he IS the best CENTER in the league. But still not considered one of the top 12 PLAYERS.....according to them. As some one else posted....JMart didn't make ANY of the teams. IMO that is a travesty.

Still, I'd like to offer congratulations to Semaj and Matt for being recognized for their excellent seasons.

HM is basically 3rd Team since they don't have a 3rd Team. I think that's probably right for him, although I could see an argument for 2nd. If there were 3 teams plus honorable mention I think Martin would have made HM.

I think it is a good list. I had Stainbrook 3rd team (thinking there was one).
Only one I really disagree with is Harrison. He is an undisciplined player, a poor shooter (39%) and does not improve his teammates. I would have given him HM, along with Sampson, who is missing.

JayVaughn Pinkston, Villanova, is the only big besides Stain not a Sr.
Not sure how many of the senior bigs listed have eligibility to use,
