With BYU on the at-large board, a Loyola Marymount win would take the Coogs off the board.

First off, thanks for doing this. This has been great.
However, how is Creighton on Xavier's seed line?

Really hoping Tennessee, Alabama, and Creighton all win today. It's be nice if Pitt and BYU can go down today too. A loss would give BYU 5 sub-140 losses in a mediocre conference so that should hopefully finish them off as X-Band said.

I do too. If they can somehow win a couple more and sneak into the top 50 that would be two more top 50 wins for us.

Wally Rutecki sure likes to call that foul on the 3 point shot that is not a foul. You know..where the shooter kicks his leg out. He made a horrendous call for Villanova the other night. Same thing for St. Johns.

I would prefer not playing St. John's on their home floor after beating them twice. But I can't get too worked up about it. Whoever we play is going to be a tough matchup, and we're going to have to show up.

Help me figure this out. St. John's wins over Marquette so we own the tiebreaker over them. If Providence loses today (vs. Creighton) they will be 10-8 like X and St. Johns. Does X have the tiebreaker over Providence?

Yes Xavier has the tiebreak vs both St. Johns and Providence. If the Friars lose, we are #3 seed playing Marquette. Reason? Because XU is 3-1 vs Providence and St. Johns combined and that is the best of the three. You cannot minimize XU's sweep vs St. Johns.
St. Johns is playing really well right now. Although we match up better against them, I don't want to play them in a big game in MSG after beating them twice.

It's because the son of the booster that led their football program into ruin is now paying off someone at the NCAA to help their basketball team get to the same result.

Pitt is 26 in Pomeroy and 49 RPI and they're squarely on the bubble. SMU is 4-5 against the top 100, has 2 sub 140 losses, and one of the worst non-con schedules in the country. If they lose in the first round of their tourney they may be in trouble.

Mizzou needs to win SEC championship to get in (maybe if they upset fla. on the way to the champ game they could be ok). Arkansas needs to beat Uk again/fla in the tourney to get in. And Tennessee is looking safe if they avoid a bottom feeder loss.

They had a lot of injuries. If they were fully healthy, I don't think they would have been a tournament team, but I bet they would have been a solid NIT team.

I think they just rely too heavily on a few guys. For the FDU game, though, I'm pretty sure they weren't that short-handed (outside Patrick Auda). I think they just crapped the bed on that one.

If I recall correctly, most if not all FDU starters were suspended for the X game last year.
Edit: I'm not implying they would have beaten X with their starters, just that it probably wouldn't have been a 100 point game.
