I came across this article and interview with Brian Grant. He discusses living with Parkinson's and about Xavier.

Here's a nice piece on former X-man Brian Grant.
He talks about his battle with Parkinsons and his time at Xavier.
LL: Why do you think it is that the Musketeers have been so consistently good for the past 20 years? How responsible do you feel for having laid the program’s groundwork?
BG: I guess it’s just the atmosphere, the university, the fact that it’s a small school with great talent. They’re good at recruiting a lot of guys of whom not a lot is expected of them, just like me. I give the credit [for kickstarting the program] to Tyrone Hill and Derek Strong; I just came in and continued it. Then you had David West and other guys who were just killing it. It goes on and on.
We still haven’t won a national championship, and hopefully one day we will. The Big East competition is going to be tough now.

Always love to hear about his positive outlook to his ailment. Obviously a HUGE fan and hope he continue to progress by staving off the onset of this nasty disease.

The big fella just had a birthday a few days ago, and is enjoying time with his new baby and new wife.

Casually perusing through my hometown newspaper when a familiar face showed up on the screen.

BTW, this research center is really something. Very cool for a small town like Grand Rapids to have something like this.

I went to a Portland Trailblazer game last year, and it happened to be Brian Grant night. The ovation they gave him was something else.

No worries. It was easy to get lost in the all the posts about Trump and Syrian Refugees.

A woman in my Rotary club has Parkinson, and just got back from their World Congress held in Portland, where she was a presenter.
Before she left, I talked with her about Brian Grant, Muskies, etc. and said she should try and meet him. She knew of him of course from his work in the field.
So, somehow in the few thousand people there, she tracked him down, actually worked out with him one morning, talked X basketball with him, and said he was great. Brought back this picture. (Click to make bigger)
