There is a remote possibility of playing G'town and about equal and substantial chances of playing Marquette or St. John's. Who do you want to play, and does the answer vary on whether Stainbrook is available and can play a fair amount of minutes decently?

I will start it off:

The first consideration is that if we play G'town it means G'town would have beaten Villanova (thus clearly being in the NCAA hunt).

Without a useful Stainbrook: I would not want Marquette, because of Gardner and Otoule. It is close between G'town (motivated as just explained) or St. John's (tough to beat a talented team three times, and at home, plus it will be motivated if it beat Marquette). Having been at the debacle at the Verizon Center, I go with St. John's.

With a useful Stainbrook: I am guessing "useful" won't be enough in the context of battling the Marquette bigs. My gut says to pick G'town, but I can't pretend it is logical with the preceding analysis.

No to Marquette, for the same reason you mentioned about Gardner and Otule. Maybe Georgetown, but as tough as it is to beat a team 3 times, I like the idea of St. John's. Reynolds is the guy replacing Stainbrook right now, and he matches up well against the Johnnies. He matches up well against Marquette as a team too, but with Stainbrook not there to take on Gardner, Reynolds would have to and I don't really like that idea.

I am going to sound like a coach and just say I am thankful for the opportunity to play in such a prestigious conference tournament. We will be prepared to play whomever happens to be on the floor that day. With that said I would like to play Fordham. If we played Fordham would that be enough to get us in vs if we play St. John's and lose? I want nothing to do with GTown, Marquette. So as hard as it will be to beat St. John's three times that does seem to be the team that we matchup well against.
