Big East Seed?

I was under the impression that Xavier being the 3 seed is basically a lock, as there is no way providence beats the bluejays Saturday. However I've seen some places that says we will be a 4 seed regardless of providences outcome Saturday. Can anyone fill me in on what has to happen for us to be the 3 seed.

We swept St. Johns. Most tie breakers go head to head first, then go down the line of record vs top teams. SJU might finish highly. I don't think Marquette or Providence swept anyone as highly as St. Johns. You can check their schedules yourself if you like. I have no definitive information, but if the Blue Jays beat Providence, I think that we are the 3 seed.

Another option is to make XUBrew research the seeding criteria and threaten to take away his lunch money if he doesn't deliver answers. I am not above that, and XUBrew will probably do it anyway now that I mentioned it because he doesn't want to incur the wrath of the House of Snipe.

If Creighton wins, we are the 3, if Providence wins, we are the 4. Simple as that.

Yep. As a 4 seed we would play the winner of the Marquette/St. John's game. As a 3 seed, we would play the loser, or if St. John's is the loser and Georgetown somehow wins @Villanova, we'd play Georgetown.

By the way, I appreciate Mack going full Cronin after the game. Well, not full Cronin as he didn't reference pink outfits or push an assistant. But the idea that the Big East would only get two teams in still strikes me as absurd.

Mack was trying to rep the conference. I personally like his comments. The BE did very well against the A-10 this season so it's a fair comparison. There is no way in hell that the BE only gets 2 teams.. We get at least 4 teams in.
