So what happens if both Providence and X lose their last game, and Marquette and St. John's wins? There would be 4 teams at 10-8 in the conference. We obviously have the advantage of SJU, but who would finish second out of Providence, X, and Marquette?
Yeah, I know, we win it doesn't matter (esp. since Providence will likely lose to Creighton)...but just wondering.

Marquette and St. John's play each other, so there can't be a 4-way tie.
If X wins, they get the 3 seed. If X loses and Providence loses, they still get the three seed.

D & V, I listened to the podcast so I kind of know your opinion on it. But the more I think about Xavier's chances of making the tourney, if they finish 3rd in the league that has to help our chances (at least to the effect of a play in game) if we lose the next 2. I think lately the committee has put much more of a bearing on the regular season work as opposed to the conference tournament season.
I guess the only negative thing against Xavier not getting in would be the Stainbrook issue.

I agree seeing a 3 next to X will work in our favor much more than 4/5.

I didn't realize St. Johns and Providence have really no good wins out of conference. This bodes well for us. Need Georgetown to lose on Saturday and that would put them at 8-10 in the conference and barring more than 2 wins (out of 4 because they would play an extra game against probably Butler in the BE Tourney) we could still be okay to fend off Georgetown. If we lose both games and Georgetown is able to beat Nova on Saturday and win at least one next week we could be in trouble fending off them.
I really hate talking about this stuff but a win tonight would put an end to all this. I just don't think its gonna happen. Man I wish I was more positive about things I can't control.

Yes, this worries me much more than our resume. Not saying we couldn't be excluded based on our resume alone (though I think that's a minority chance). What worries me is being excluded in good part due to Stainbrook's injury, and that is much less predictable.
