They're all in foul trouble

I think Philmore and Reynolds have two. they are getting pushed around down low. I think I just heard that we're getting out rebounded 26-19.

Sometimes I miss Brad Redford.

Could use The Hammer's lockdown D tonight.

Philmore has been extremely quiet for a Senior. We need somebody besides Christon.

Farr's gotta give a better effort on the glass. Just standing there flat footed isn't gonna get the job done.

they are asking us to get back in this. fuck.

27-19 actually.

XU3232
03-03-2014, 08:27 PM
Maybe against intramural competition

Or if I had the looks he had in a college game. He's been WIDE open.

I feel like Xavier just got knocked out of tournament, and it's not the losing. Stain's injury (if significant) effectively ends the season. It's too little time to reinvent yourself, which is what this team would need to do without him down low. Losing just twists the knife.

xsteve1
03-03-2014, 08:39 PM
X just wasn't ready to play tonight. Which with what is on the line is unacceptable. The body language has sucked from the get go.

paulxu
03-03-2014, 08:40 PM
The mindset is just gone or something. When you are down 12 and under 8 minutes, you've got to jack the pace up...not wait till the shot clock is about to expire before you throw up a prayer.

XU 87
03-03-2014, 08:40 PM
Seton Hall 8-19 from the three.

X 2-15.

The worst part is that guys have had wide open looks.

XUFan09

Now the heat is really on for Thursday...and we may not have our center.

Went down with maybe 10 left in the first, looked like his knee buckled, didn't look like contact, and immediately went to the floor screaming in pain, he walked off the court awkwardly with help, but is now on the bench, so nobody really knows what's going on.

Yeah, as much as I'd love to blame this one on a variety of factors. This stat is absolutely terrible for a D1 team and it is not the first time we've shot like this. Hopefully the bombs will fall against Nova b/c we'll need it if Stain is seriously hurt.

The other side of the equation is that SH made 8 threes. That's outscored 24-9 from three point line. That is the real story.

This team literally cannot play back from a deficit on the road. The only exception was Alabama and that's a terrible team. If Xavier doesn't lead from the get-go on the road then we get down 7 or 8 and it's game over. Same thing over and over again.

We played lackadaisical early, let them get some confidence and then we started too late again.

This team may just be the most fragile minded team I have ever seen at XU. Cannot play at all in a back to back scenario, even with everything possible at stake.

Part of that is our bench, that was supposed to be so deep, is like paper mâché . Nothing from Myles Davis, Brandon Randolph and Stenger. Very little from Farr. With no bench, you'll wear the team out in closely scheduled games. That's what's happened here.

THAT is the truth. I hope it's not too serious, but if it is, you hate to see it so late in the year in terms of being ready for next year. Encouraging that he was getting around some and back on the bench, but you can never tell. Tom Brady walked off the field after he tore his.... uh, you know - not even going there. The only thing I can think of is when Semaj said in the post game presser how tired they were... and they'll have a week in between Nova and the first round so hopefully that's what they need.

If Stainbrook is out, I think it's gonna be really really hard for X to win a game in the tourney if they do make it. The only positive for Thursday is that he played pretty bad against Nova cause he can't guard their bigs.

Hearing them say they're tired drives me nuts! It's March. F tired! They better learn to get over being tired if they want to win a game in the tournament. They're 19, 20, 21, 22 year old men in peak physical condition. Tournaments don't care if you're tired. You lose you're out and the season is over. Tired. Give me a break.

There was an absurd amount of wide open threes that were missed. Just hit one at a timely spot and all the momentum is X's. Just happened to be that every time we made a run and had the ball we would immediately do something dumb and miss a wide open shot or turn it over and Seton Hall would score.

Are you nuts? Brad played meaningful minutes as a true freshman when he was 17-18 years old and shot 48% from 3. Even after he tore his ACL, he played pretty solid defense although i think it affected his shot a little.

Myles Davis is a 21 year old freshman. He did a year at prep school, and then sat out his freshman year as a non qualifier. He is slower than molasses and his shot is terrible.

Myles has a couple of inches on Brad but he's too slow to do anything.

Give me Redford. I still have hopes for Myles. I don't even thinks he believes he's going to make shots when he lets them fly.

This whole post is mind boggling to me. Yes Myles has frustrating stretches, but just a few weeks ago Myles broke out of a slump to hit a couple huge threes late in games. He is a freshman and is playing like one. His defense really isn't that bad either. Redford could literally only shoot and try hard. Very little talent. I haven't verified that, but I suspect you wouldn't correct without knowing. Regardless of years and when the birthday falls, it's his first year of big time ball. It's a whole new game. How many times over the last week have we read about how it takes time and we need to remember that the studs that leave X are much better than the young men who come in. Next year we are going to see more of the same. Our returning players will improve but the loaded class coming in will at times be frustrating. That's just how it works. We need a few consecutive years of that type of recruiting. I don't think we need to rehash the few glitches of the last couple years that set us back a bit - and yet - we currently sit at #3 in the Big East! (Where I hope we can manage to stay)

Blaming the crowd is bush league B.S. You're either ready to play or you're not. If we can't get up and win games even if the crowd isn't Creighton worthy, then we shouldn't be in the Big East. No wonder we can't win on the road if this is the mindset we have. I love cheering our team on, but there comes a point in a game where the team needs to give the fans something to cheer for. Miller said it when he was coach. Mack has said the same thing. Fans pay to see a team play. Teams should come to win whether there are two fans in the stands or 20,000.

The greats (Jordan, Bird, etc.) didn't care if anyone was there to watch. Not to say they couldn't feed off the crowd, but they were going to kick your ass regardless of who was watching. And it didn't matter if it was hoops or checkers. Not to go back to an infamous (and ill-advised) press conference, but you need a certain amount of attitude - and the ability to control what comes out of your mouth.
