Xavier To Honor Former Head Coach Bob Staak And The 1984 NIT Quarterfinalist Team

This weekend Xavier will honor the 30-year anniversary of the 1984 men's basketball team that reached the National Invitation Tournament Quarterfinals. The 1984 team will be recognized for their feats on the court during a media timeout during the Xavier vs. Creighton game at Cintas Center, scheduled for 5 p.m. on Sat., Mar. 1.

16 years later we finished 3rd in the NIT, and I guarantee that in 2030 we will not be honoring the team at halftime of a game. Kind of amazing how things changed in the program in a relatively short timeframe.
