My son is stationed at Tyndall AFB in north Florida. I have on a couple of occasions driven through the panhandle section of Florida via back roads. I have also lived in Kentucky for 20+ years and traveld much of it via back roads.

I can say in all seriousness that eastern Kentucky has NOTHING on north Florida when it comes to being part of the redneck republic.

I've even heard that if you get divorced in West Virgina the couple are still considered cousins after the divorce is finalized.....:whack:

I have a son at FSU and have made several trips to the capitol of the Sunshine State (as well as a few other destinations in the area). For the capitol of one of the more prominant states, it's shocking that it seems more like southern Alabama. Part politics, part college town, part toothless redneck reservation. I would need a really good reason to move there. It's fine for a college kid.... but then get the hell out! Most FSU grads we know love going back for the weekend game then get out as fast as they can.
