I know many were worried this year. I was too after the game at Georgetown; however, somehow, someway, through the Midwestern City, Midwestern Collegiate, Atlantic 10, and the Big East Conferences; with Bob Staak, Pete Gillen, Skip Prosser, Thad Matta, Sean Miller, and Chris Mack at the helm; and homes at Schmidt Fieldhouse, Cincinnati Gardens, and the Cintas Center, X has not had a less than .500 conference record since the 1981-1982 season when our beloved Musketeers finished 1-11 in the MCC. Ironically, and with a ridiculous belief that I had something to do with the rise of X basketball, this was the year before I started going to the games as a kid. I have no idea what it feels like to have a losing record in conference or what it feels like to lose to UD in Cincinnati. Two things I would like to never experience.

No other team has finished .500 or better in conference over the last 32 consecutive seasons. Not Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Duke, Syracuse, Gonzaga, Memphis, North Carolina, NONE OF THE CATHOLIC 7, no member of the former or current Big East, not any team EXCEPT our Xavier University Musketeers.

A tradition of winning second to none.
Simply amazing really.

Nice. Thanks for pointing that out.

If all that will fit in a tweet, would you mind sending it to Dana O'Neil?

More consistent than Dayton losing at X. That says it all... Please offer other analogies of consistency.

This year the streak was supposed to end. Looks like it might stay awhile.

I don't think it's a coincidence that I was born in '82. You're welcome.

I was born in September of 1982, probably near the first official practice. I'll take the credit from you. :slapfight:

Didn't believe KU, but they had a 6-8 conference season in '88 and a 4-10 season in '83.

I was born waaaaay earlier, but I started working at Xavier about that time (interviewed in '83, and began work at '84). I have no idea what a losing season in conference is like, nor do I know what it's like to lose to the cryers here in Cincinnati. Some experiences I'll just have to live without.

Sucks to be them. They only won the national title that year.

Checked, and KU was 6-8 in '88-'89. 9-5 in '87-'88 (their championship team).
