I can't believe some of these teams that are in the picture.. Goes to show how weak the bubble is.

FWIW Jerry Palm has us as an 11 seed and squarely on the bubble.

Lunardi tweeted out his S-curve this morning and we were 39th which means we got the second last ten seed. I would say we probably need to win Tuesday to continue to feel safe in the bracket projections.

i am wondering whom X draws in the NIT.

Toledo has very little chance at an At-Large Bid. No BIG OOC wins & too many bad losses in conf. MAC will be a Juan Bid league like always.

A win vs St. Johns would be huge. A Dayton loss at St. Joe's would also be nice. Despite how bad we have played on the road we are still in the mix for a tournament bid. That is all you can ask for at this point.

As of this morning, X was in the field in 85 of the 89 brackets (that's over 95%) on Bracket Matrix with an average seed of 10.46. 16 of those 89 were updated today and 14 of those 16 (87.5%) include X with an average seed of 11.

So while the loss yesterday definitely hurt X's chances, the Muskies are still on the right side of the bubble.

need to get a road win and beat either Nova or Creighton IMO. Need 20 wins going into Big East tournament. If that does not happen, then X will need a run in NY. Otherwise, it's the NIT.

I would feel safe going 2-2 in the next four. If X manages that and pulls off a win in NY then we're a lock.

I can't hardly think about the Dance yet. What does X need to do down the stretch to finish no worse than fourth in the Big East to get that Wednesday buy?

You know, this thought crossed my mind the other night and my fear then was that team up I-75 that plays in a dump. The bigger fear was having to play them in Cincy with the streak on the line.

I think the top 6 teams get a first round bye.

FWIW we're in 3rd, but only 1 1/2 up on 7th place.

Death, taxes, and Dayton being on the wrong side of the bubble.

I am rooting for us and could care less what other teams do. If we make the tournament it needs to be because we've earned it and not because everyone else on the bubble sucked.

Oh, absolutely. And I think that's what a lot of these brackets that have us "in" are based on. The problem is that those of us who have actually watched this team don't see winning ANY of the next four games as likely.

USA Today has us as one of the last 5 in. (http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2014/02/23/usa-today-sports-ncaa-tournament-bracketology/5755289/)

We need wins.

If these latest developments on our chances to Dance don't create a sense of urgency on this team, there is no hope for them.

The problem is that they should have already been to that point before the Georgetown and Marquette games. If it wasn't for a historically weak bubble we'd already be on the outside looking in.

I agree that there should be a sense of urgency, but there should have been a sense of urgency the past 2 or 3 weeks and it was nowhere to be found.

I agree, and I am hard-pressed to understand why it has not been there. For that matter, I don't understand why this team appears to have regressed as the season has worn on. Part of the "regression" is an accident of scheduling...more road games now with more home games early...and part involves the fact that some of our league competition has gotten their act together. But we don't seem to be very interested in playing as a team, and I suspect that there are issues with this team that none of us are privy to.
