I love a good meltdown every now and then.

Having said that, the majority of times a coach gets a technical foul they're basically slapping their players right in the face and giving the other team two points.

Players almost never completely flip their shit the way coaches do. If a player ever freaked out and got T'd up like that, everyone would say the player was stupid and selfish for costing their team two points. Yet, coaches do it all the time. I don't find it to be any less stupid.

"You can't call a T at the end of a game like this." Dick Vitale

Uhh, yeah you can. What you can't do is rip your coat off, run out onto the floor, and yell "THAT'S BULLSHIT" inches away from a referee's face. Imagine if a player had done that. Yet, when a coach does it, who is supposed to be leader, people blame the refs for "ending the game with a T."

I understand it's upsetting, and sometimes it is bullshit, but if the players can keep from completely flipping their shit, then the coaches should be expected to do the same. This isn't the first time a coach has hurt their team and players by acting like a complete idiot, but it is the most recent example, I guess. Way to completely shit on your players, Boeheim. Nicely done.

I am in agreement with you. But also remember who that quote is attributed to, he's an idiot.

Ha! Good point.

That was a pretty bad call. especially when a very similar drive by Duke's Parker ended up being a blocking foul on Cuse, earlier in the half. It's sickening how Duke seems to get these calls in their favor so often. Ever since we lost to them in the Georgia Dome, I absolutely despise that program.

It only gets better with the presser. He honestly broke down his technique on getting out there to argue the call.

Any day Boeheim comes across as a goober is a good day. Most days are good days.

I would honestly like to see Mack show that kind of emotion. Boeheim still has fire in his belly after all these years.

What about when Rodney Hood was assaulted at the end of the first Duke-Syracuse game this year and that wasn't called?

I see a charge there about 80% of the time.

And I hate Duke.

I thought the defender got there in the nick of time. Coach B clearly yelled BS multiple times. I thought the whole thing was pretty funny. It, along with UC losing, were the only two bright spots in my basketball Saturday after Xavier's dismal no-show.

And I do too. Boeheim can talk all he wants about the rule, but it appears to me the the secondary defender had set his feet and position outside of the arc before the attacking player had begun his upward motion and was still on the floor. I think the call was legit. Borderline, and a call you get at home, not on the road, but legit.

Agreed. UC's loss especially helped to put a smile back on my face yesterday. I would have preferred Dook to lose too though.

Gathering the ball is considered that upward motion. So as soon as the cuse player put two hands on the ball he had begun his upward motion. The duke player was still sliding over at that point and therefore it was a block.

That being said, down 2 with 10 seconds to go and duke having to inbound still makes that a very winnable game. It was dumb for boeheim to get the Ts and take away that opportunity from his players. Had one of his players done that he would probably be riding the pine for a while.

Boeheim and Coach K both in the building. A couple of strategically placed Assembly Hall beams could have worked wonders.

It was a bang, bang play. It could have been called either way. Usually goes to the home team which is exactly what happened. Boeheim overreacted at a critical time in the game. He looked foolish.

Today Dicky V changed course and stated Boeheim deserved the T's and stated it was a borderline call. I thought it was remarkable that this was the first time Boeheim had ever been tossed from a game while at Syracuse. I mean, the man was due.

Good Lord Syracuse has gone to shit. Probably should have lost their third in a row tonight. Actually, this should have been their fifth loss in a row. They'd better get it together if they want to stay a #1 seed.

I don't want to call Syracuse overrated but they were getting lucky in a lot of games. They were lucky to beat Duke and Pitt. That being said, they do have some good OOC wins.

and now Boeheim went after a security guard: http://msn.foxsports.com/college-basketball/story/college-basketball-road-trip-don-t-mess-with-an-angry-boeheim-030214

What a class fella that Jim Boeheim is.

Seriously, the world would be a better place if a beam fell out of the sky and landed on Boeheim's head.

Syracuse's recent suckitude is continuing so far at home tonight against Brian Gregory and Georgia Tech. 39-31 Midgets with 15 minutes to play.

Those mighty BE teams have not faired well at all against the ACC teams.

Syracuse is 13-3 in the ACC. But they have sure as hell been awful since starting 12-0 in the ACC.

If I was a betting man I would have lost a LOT of money on that game.
