What this team is lacking is leadership and the stone cold assassin mentality that other teams had both at home and on the road to bury another team and when they are down, step on their throat so they don't get up. We come out timid, lackadaisical ho-hum, and don't have that killer instinct. This is what Mack has been dealt, because of the damn administrations wanting a bunch of choir boys. Tu was cold hearted, wanted to take the big shots and suck the life out of the other squad. Lyons was the same way. You could absolutely see that also in Dez Wells. Dez would have been the leader and the guy to go "Lionel Chalmers" in the locker room, but obviously he is at Maryland. Thank you Fr. Graham and admin. for that.
Martin is the closest thing to a vocal leader we have, but his head does not always seem to be in the game. Semaj is too quiet. Dee is not good enough.
Going back to David West, Lionel Chalmers, Justin Cage, Stanley Burrell, Jordan Crawford, Jason Love, BJ Raymond, Tu Holloway, Mark Lyons, Dez Wells. Those guys all wanted to step on your throat and absolutely bury the other team. I don't see this team with that killer instinct and I blame it on a lack of having a guy to lead this team in that manner. That is what Xavier basketball has had for well over a decade and I don't see it on our current roster.
I would love for someone to go off like Chalmers, but I don't see it with this bunch of choir boys.
