A reeling Georgetown and an injured St Johns are absolutely must wins.

Mack's obsession with Philmore is so peculiar. Heck, Mack even named the dude a captain this year. Philmore is bad. So so very bad. Just not an athlete.

In Mack's first few seasons, he was the beneficiary of having a lot of talent that he didn't recruit. That talent helped to mask many of the issues that we're currently seeing.

Lifeless at the start of the game. Lack of focus. Timidity. No defense. No aggressiveness. Maybe we'll see a sense of urgency with 5:00 left in the game, which will AGAIN be too little, too late. We'll lose by about 7 or 8 pts, which will misleadingly make it look like it was a close game.

Not saying Gtown isn't a good team, but I think we all know the opponent is not the issue for this squad.

What a waste of Semaj's Xavier career if he doesn't get to play any meaningful games in March, but this team doesn't seem to want it bad enough.

What are you watching? Georgetown is terrible. We don't play any defense, turn the ball over, play lackadaisical and careless with no intensity. We will not beat St. John's, Villanova, or Creighton. This was our best chance and now the game and season are already over. I can't deal with how this team comes up and completely lays an egg over and over and over. I am tired of Stenger starting, he brings nothing to the table. Philmore is nothing more than a sub, but Reynolds should start and Farr should play more than Stenger. Christon needs to drive to the hoop every single time, because nobody else is capable of doing anything. Stainbrook is very limited with his athleticism. A once promising season at 15-4 is now 18-9 after our loss today to Georgetown. That's terrible. Here is how I see the rest of the way.

Villanova- Definite Loss

I read the article too and the argument is a valid one, yes the previous iteration of the BE was usually overhyped, etc., but c'mon. When you make the same mistakes and display the same inconsistent energy game after game, the opponent doesn't particularly matter.

By the way if you want to focus on strength of opponent, in the easy games (a bad, bad, bad Depaul team the other night and an outgunned Butler squad that didn't even bring its 'C' game let alone its 'A' game) XU could have easily stepped on the gas and won both by 30+.

Most of us know this team is capable of playing far better basketball because we've seen it happen with our own eyes. Play a tough, focused brand of basketball most games and you won't hear as much fan frustration regardless of the W-L record.

What are you watching? Georgetown is terrible. We don't play any defense, turn the ball over, play lackadaisical and careless with no intensity. We will not beat St. John's, Villanova, or Creighton. This was our best chance and now the game and season are already over. I can't deal with how this team comes up and completely lays an egg over and over and over. I am tired of Stenger starting, he brings nothing to the table. Philmore is nothing more than a sub, but Reynolds should start and Farr should play more than Stenger. Christon needs to drive to the hoop every single time, because nobody else is capable of doing anything. Stainbrook is very limited with his athleticism. A once promising season at 15-4 is now 18-9 after our loss today to Georgetown. That's terrible. Here is how I see the rest of the way.

Not as much as you think. Road wins are more important no matter who the team is. Home wins against Creighton and Nova will add a little, but not as much as you want it to. If Xavier loses their two remaining road games, but wins against Nova and Creighton they will more than likely still have to win the Big East Tournament. I'm not extrapolating anything from this game. I am saying we have not beat a team on the road this entire season with a winning record. In fact, we only have 3 road wins all year long. Ok, so what are the coaches doing ? What are coaches encouraging him to do? Semaj is ONE player. He cant play defense for the whole team. He can't prevent Dee from playing an horrific game. He can only do so much. There is so much wrong with this team.....to isolate him and someone point blame at him is just wrong.

I can't speak for MOR. I'm certainly not solely blaming Semaj, it was a whole team disaster. I just would've like Semaj to attack the rim more. One of the few bright spots in the first half was when Semaj was aggressive. He's gotta shoot more than he did today.

But I could just be overreacting right now and should probably give credit to G'Town for making sure Semaj wasn't gonna beat them.

If I were Mack, I would be questioning the player leadership. If players don't want to start leading then strip them of their captain title. It seems like our player leadership is as weak as it has ever been.

You sound like one. You should probably go over to their board. We can win any of our remaining games and lose them also. We need to finish 3-3 including the BE tourney. I'd say we have a 50/50 shot at that. I'm going to be realistic and not fly off the handle like so many seem to be doing. Take things one game at a time. I'm worried about our tourney chances, but not panicked.

How are you being "realistic" thinking we can finish the year 3-3 when we have proven we cannot beat a team with a winning record on the road? And our defense is pathetic how do you think we can contain Creighton or Villanova's offense?

Don't get me wrong, 3-3 would be awesome and I hope we do that... But given what we know and the results over the course of the year, how on the world is it realistic to think this team can do that? Hopeful? Yes. Realistic? Absolutely not.

Wish Jmart would pull a Chalmers. Outside Reynolds, Jmart is the only one to ever really show some emotion/heart but Reynolds can't be the one to do it as a freshman bench player. JMart needs to rip into this team and show that he's picked it up on the floor in the BE and hes gonna pick it up off the floor more as well
