OK BJF, more proof I have too much time on my hands, but what the hell, they don’t let me play golf anymore, can’t drink anymore, and I love her dearly, but I ain’t gonna watch soapies with her…..soooo ….
At this point of the season, particularly the BE, we’re down to the nitty-gritty. There will be thirty-two Conference Champions, i.e.31 conference tournament winners plus the Ivy League, and 36 at-large invitee’s.
I posted earlier that there would be four teams from the BE, and that included either ‘Nova or Creighton as tournament winner plus two other BE teams.
If neither ‘Nova or Creighton win the tournament, things will really be a mess for every one else.
Here are the contenders for invites other than those mentioned and their W-L entering tonight:
Xavier 8-5; St John 8-6; Marquette 7-6; and Providence 7-7.
And here are the remaining games for each:
Xavier at St. John’s, G-Town and Seton Hall, home to Villanova, and Creighton.
Marquette at at Villanova, Providence, and DePaul, home to G-Town, and St John’s.
St John’s home to Xavier and DePaul, at Villanova and Marquette.
Providence home to Marquette at Butler, Seton Hall and Creighton.
Won-Lost for the contenders is 25-12 (home) and 11-20 (away).
The match-ups the rest of the season are crazy. Marquette and St John’s are hot, but then St John’s lost their big guy for 10-14 days and Marquette has Nova and Providence on the road and Creighton and St John’s at home.
My thinking now is the BE will send five to the Dance, and the last week of the season will be something to watch with the tournament following that. Love March St Patrick's Day and basketball madness galore
Have at it guys …
