Wow. What did the refs call there?

Well, they didn't call the kick right away, so it escalated. How that got missed is beyond me.

I don't know what happened and how all this played out, but it would seem to me they should be able to go back after the fact and set this straight. The Kung Fu guy should have been thrown out of the game along with Bruce Lee.
They didn't really show what happened next, but it didn't appear the opposing teams had that macho standoff with the "hold me back, hold me back" nonsense. A couple of black belts are in trouble, you don't need the rest of the team getting involved. Figure it out. Eject who deserves it. Shoot your free throws and get out of there. Crazy stuff!

The kick in live action could have been inadvertant. On the replay, it sure looks intentional, but there is at least a sliver of a chance that his foot comes out simply to balance. I don't believe it is the case here, but certainly in the history of basketball, a foot has landed in a gut inadvertantly.
The closed-fist punch to the neck is nothing but a punch.
I haven't seen the outcome here, but I'd think Flagrant 1 for the kick, Flagrant 2 for the punch.

According to ESPN's recap Harris was ejected but I didn't see anything about the guy that gut kicked the WVU player.

Being a loose follower of WVU basketball, when you're up by 20 some points, there's just absolutely no reason to do it. I think Harris believed that Noreen was targeted so he decided to retaliate. I think intentionally he wanted to swat the shot through the floor halfway to China, but then saw that wasn't going to be possible, and decided to just take out his neck. I don't think there will be any long term suspensions for it, and I don't think it's really necessary either.. It's probably a bright side for Huggins actually because last year the entire team chemistry was off, and I don't think people considered each other teammates.

Bob Huggins team involved in a punching contest?
Who ever saw that coming? At least no horses were harmed in the filming of that altercation.

Is it true that Flagrant 2 no longer carries a one game suspension? Or is there some discretion when you close your fist and swing it like that to call it a punch and get the 1 game fighting suspension?

I guess not, I haven't heard any reports where Eron Harris has been suspended for their game against Texas.
