One of the very best ways for a TV/Radio network to shoot up the ratings adder is to have a full-blown rivalry.
several times posters are asking what do they think about FOX 1. Several said their programming isn't much, but then they are
airing BCS football, great college basketball etc, and that is light years from where ESPN was its first few years. In time they will do just fine, maybe never at the same level as ESPN, but they will have their niche. I dod like a camera angle they use sometimes during basketball games, from behind the offensive backcourt. You see plays develp full screen with that shot.

Anyway, as the getting a rivalry started. watch this shot at ESPN's Rick Reilly. Sorry you have to cut and paste, but I don't know how to do the geek way.

I could care less what any of them think about each other. Show the games and be done.

So, the 4 letter network fires the first salvo, and then gets blown away. Ha.

Hopefully Fox Sports 1 finds it's niche because I was watching some short YouTube clips the other day of some of their studio shows and outside of Gary Payton (who should be back on NBA tv) it was horrible. It even looked like Payton was forcing controversial stories just for the sake of it. In the coming years it needs serious improvement. Having more college football and professional baseball should help...

Forcing controversial stories. Wonder where that idea came from. Actually one of the reasons I don't watch espn anymore so hopefully it doesn't become their standard shtick.

What's funny (not really) is this strategy is what brings in ratings.

I'd give her more "very cute girl next door" on looks alone, but her interest in sports makes her pretty damn hot.

Titan, I know you are only recently married. So I'm going to provide you some unsolicited marriage advice: In marriage, there is a direct correlation between use of the term "backup plan" and need for a "backup plan."

PS: Or so I hear (this advice does not derive from personal experience).
