It has been ten years since The Run. This event strikes as one of those rare occasions that simultaneously feels like yesterday and ages past.

It seemed fitting to have a thread to commemorate the event ten years later.

Feel free to post memories, feelings, reflections, pictures, stoic prognostications, whatever strikes you...

During "The Run" I was a senior at X and living in Dallas during the summers.

A year or two before, I had been given a white Texas hat with a burnt orange longhorn on the front. I rarely wore the hat so it mainly sat on the floor of my closet.

Then came the Sweet 16. We were playing Texas. Instead of wearing my normal Xavier hat and shirt, I took out that Texas hat and a blue sharpie. I drew a huge X over the Longhorn and wore that hat all night. By the end of the night I had added the final score on the side of the hat and I think it had been passed around for pictures. I kept it and even wore it back in Texas a couple times.

Over the years and through many moves, the hat has since been lost, but in my heart I know, that hat helped us move on to the Elite 8.

I think all season ticket holders got one that year. Am I right on that?

I'm not sure of the cut off. I was a season ticket holder but I know others who are and did not get one. I am also a contributor to AFO, so was that the cutoff, or a combination of both?

It was AFO donation of either $25+ or $50+

Really? I honestly don't recall what I gave that year. Interesting.

I get really nostalgic talking about The Run. That was it. That was when we arrived. It was completely exhilarating. 2008 was sweet. So were 2009 and 2010.

But that tourney. From the UC loss to the streak of wins to the annihilation of St. Joe's. Not to mention all those stories of Texas saying "Who the hell are you?" to the players before Lionel and Sato dropped bombs on them.

That was really special.

After the Duke loss, I literally locked myself in my room (in college at the time) and stared at the ceiling without speaking for about an hour.

Easily the most depressed I've been after a game. Worse than UCLA, worse than OSU, worse than Pitt and Kansas State.

We were so close.

I'm depressed now. Thanks BandAid. Asshole.
