Thoughts? right now we are 15-4. I said at the begining 22 wins for the regular season. Here is what is left and how I think we finish:
Sat, Jan 25 @ Providence---W
Sat, Feb 1 vs Seton Hall----W
Mon, Feb 3 @ #4 Villanova---L
Sat, Feb 8 vs Providence----W
Tue, Feb 11 @ Butler----W
Sat, Feb 15 @ Marquette----W
Wed, Feb 19 vs DePaul---W
Sat, Feb 22 @ Georgetown---W
Tue, Feb 25 @ St. John's---W
Sat, Mar 1 vs Creighton---w
Mon, Mar 3 @ Seton Hall---W
Thu, Mar 6 #4 Villanova---L
That would out X at 25-6
However I think a loss is possible vs Creighton, @Mar and @Prov

Only need to be two games over .500 the rest of the way to get to 22 wins…pretty awesome.
Your prediction looks pretty optimistic - your caveat makes it more realistic…
That being said….
I like a sweep of the next twelve and ending up 27 - 4, a top seed at MSG and a 2 in the NCAA.
(And I said YOU were being optimistic!!!)

My prediction, might even lose two more on the road and be 20-11. Road wins are tough to get.

I say 9-3 with losses to Villanova, one of Butler or Marquette, and one of St. John's or Georgetown. So 24-7, 14-4.

Well, I'd love to be at the game where we beat Villanova!

I'm with UCGrad4X. Realistically, I know we're supposed to lose a game here or there. But when I look at the schedule, they're all winnable and I just want the team to roll this conference in its first year. Not really capable of doing any level-headed analysis.

I don't know how we're going to do on the road but we're going undefeated at home

i said at the start of big east play i would take 12-6. i'm a bit greedy now and 14-4 would be fantastic. we could even do better than that if we can steal a few tough ones on the road. must win the home games though.

It's really hard to say how to road will shake out.
On the won hand we probably have our hardest road game behind us which was at Creighton with their team + loud environment.
But we also have maybe our easiest road game behind us too, I don't think Depaul is the worst team in the Big East but the fans were a non factor...won't be that way the rest of the road.
Playing teams we have already beat will be tough, they'll all be out for revenge.
I'd be happy with 12-6....probably landing us an 8/9 seed.

That's a hell of a lot of road wins. I'd love to see it but experience tells me you are being wildly optimistic.

I'd be happy with 15-1. An 8/9 seed is nothing to be happy about.

I see us winning a lot then someone like Butler pulling their crap together just long enough to trounce us on their home turf. Being that they are the UDump of the new Big East, I'm guessing it will be Butler.
Then again, this team is proving to be very different that prior X teams so maybe we avoid that trap this year.
Given all the question marks we started the year with, I'm happy with any result that gets us an at large in the tourney.

This team is well-positioned to run in the tournament, regardless of their seeding. Deep bench, good low-post play, and a guard that is capable of taking a game over. That's usually a recipe for success in the dance.

We will beat Nova at home to end the regular season. Count on that.

This team is playing good basketball and I think their best play is yet to come.
As they continue to improve and show more tenacity on the road, I'm not completely ruling out a sweep.
That might seem like a lot to expect, but I expect a lot out of this team….so….yeah….

I really want to agree with you because I feel very upbeat right now... but I keep thinking that "a season is a lifetime" stuff. One ugly and unexpected loss and I'll feel completely different. It's tough - especially those road games. With that said, I am cautiously optimistic.

23-8 going into the Big East tournament (where, I thnk X can win it-obviously) but just say they go 2-1. 25-9. 6 seed

I'm not sure how deep our bench is anymore. We are primarily playing 6 guys, and the rotation is down to about 8. But otherwise I agree that this team is building toward a strong March.

Pretty sure everyone herre would've taken an 8 seed and been ecstatic about it on November 30th.
I get expectations change but we've only had 3 road games.
A win tomorrow would change my view on a lot of things. Marquette, Georgetown, and Butler will all be rivalry like environments for X i'm expecting...

I'm not quite as optimistic as everyone else is, to be honest.
L at Prov
W vs SH
L at Nova
W vs Prov
L at Butler
L at Marquette
W vs DeP
W at Gtown
L at St. John's
W vs Creighton
L at SH
W vs Nova
6-6 the rest of the way. 21-10, 11-7 in the Big East and 3rd (I assume). Being the #3, they'll play the #6 in the Quarters (would be great being the #2 and getting the winner of the #8 / #9 game), which could be Georgetown / Marquette / Providence. Winning that game will be a challenge, but when they do, they'll likely get Nova the next night (as the #2).
So 1-1 in BET, 22-11 overall, and a 7 seed. My thoughts.

I watched some of the sh-stj game the other night, they are not on x's level at all. Just don't see us losing to either.

We have some insane turnarounds. seton Hall on a Saturday at home then Nova on the road looks brutal. Then we turn around and donut a couple more times with Sat/Tue games. Then that last week.
On HLOH they were saying how nice the schedule maker was to is for giving us 4 of out first 6 at home. We are about to pay for that.

I definitely agree we are about to pay the price, but I'm still glad we were able to break a young team into a new stepped up league with some home games to get their sea legs and some confidence. After Atlantis I feel the confidence they got from starting with a bunch of home games was important. Now lets hope we can do it on the road.

obviously it worked out but at the time I was wishing we could be on the road a little more so we could have the students at more Big East games. Nit picking, obviously.

Good point. Next year we won't need the comfort of home quite so much and hopefully get the schedule reversed to get better student attendance.
