He was discussing the environment at Indiana Pacers games. He was in awe of how it felt like a community event oozing with civic pride. He said that it was an incredible basketball experience. He said UD is the only thing comparable. He raved about the UD basketball experience. There is just no darn game experience quite like a home Dayton Flyers Game...nothing like it...literally!

He is right there is no experience like the experience you get at a UD game. Where else can you go to see 12,500 hilljacks root on a sub-par team year after year after year. It's the only place where you can see david beat Goliath (if you want to consider Dayton Goliath) almost every game. It's the only place where you can see a banner that reads "WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR". Oh and don't forget to check out the NIT Trophey, they have it enshrined in a jar full of Cryer tears that they collect after every blown call from a ref.

Nice timing on this thread after the snoozefest I witnessed last night. The students were the only ones who cheered, and it wasn't because it was a blowout. It was that way the entire game - even in the close first half. No one ever stands. The volume never swells. Everyone sits on their hands and tries to find things to yell at Devin Oliver about. A "community oozing with civic pride" is a nice sentiment, but a lower bowl that was 1/3 full at the under 8:00 timeout says otherwise.

I was cracking up last night. The cheering section was still chanting "lets go UD", with about 30 seconds left and they were down 20. Sometimes your better off not saying anything

By that time, I had been talking about Xavier to the old lady that we sit by (wife's grandparents' seats) for about 10 minutes. She and her husband ask me about Xavier every time I'm there.

Lance is also the most over-dramatic on-air personality as well. His version of "cool" is very uncool. He's just below Dan Hoard on the Howdy Doody meter.

He is also trolling with half the stuff he says. By saying that, he knows he's going to piss off all the Xavier and UC fans. He hopes more people will call, tweet, and email him to use on his show.

I'm sure the players really appreciated it when enough people compalin about the introduction music that they actually TURNED IT DOWN. The announcer drowns out the music now. What an atmosphere!

If all you went to was a Dayton-Xavier game there, you might come away with that impression.

Yep, he's a clown.

Is it possible Lance was being facetious? I can't imagine any other reason he would say this in all seriousness. They DO put 12,000+ fannies in the stands on a nightly basis but, as been said earlier in this thread, most of those fans are not exactly "fanatical" during games unless the opposition happens to be the Muskies or on the very rare occasion when UD plays a non-conference top-50 team at home. I did not hear the broadcast when he made that statement --- I don't listen to Lance much since he's moved most of his broadcasting to the old Trumpy time slot.

Lance is losing his edge. It's been almost five years since his last point-shaving accusation.

I laughed when I read the word darn.

If you're gonna lose you might as well have an "incredible basketball experience" while you do it! Good for UD, they need it. Maybe this is like a Wrigley Field/Chicago Cubs type deal. Being at Wrigley is an incredible experience, being a Cubs fan... not so much...

I honestly don't know what Lance brings to the table as a radio personality. Anyone of us could do what he does. I am amazed he gets a check for it. I can't take more than 5-6 minutes before I push a different button.

Still like Lance a hell of a lot more than Mo Egger.

Some like vanilla; some like chocolate. I prefer Mo over Lance and not just because he's been raving about Semaj.

Mo seems to be a better dude. He used to attend my church festival and was cool to talk to but Lance comes across as a douche. Having said that, I do find both difficult to listen to. I ended that sentence with a preposition.
