For no particular reason, I thought today was a good day to mention how handy the ignore feature is on this site. Go to Settings, and on the left side there is a link for "Edit Ignore List". Once on that page, there is a box where you can "Add a Member to Your List". Simply type a name like, say, hoyaparanoia or burrcats into that box, and the members list will be searched for members with those names. Click on the correct suggested name, click Okay, and soon you will not have to see posts by certain ignored members anymore.
Works great.

Unless someone quotes them... then there's not much I can do.

Can they still see what you post?

And if enough people put them on ignore, they just disappear!
Burrcats makes relevant posts just enough that I have a hard time putting him on ignore. Hoya Paranoia and Floorsweeper, on the other hand...

One hopes that fellow posters only quote them when a response is necessary or at least humorous.

Burrcats trolls in most of his posts and then covers his trail with posts that make it seem like he's outsideobserver and here to talk basketball without being a d--k. He's in the red now. Maybe it's the flu and high fever talking, but I've had enough.

Ha thanks I appreciate it. I actually enjoy this board because you guys are one of the few boards that an be objective about college basketball. If X isn't playing well then you guys aren't afraid to admit it and don't offer up excuse after excuse, it makes for good discussion.
And as for Burrcat/Hoya I just don't understand it. It's baffling how somebody can find enjoyment in getting a bunch of people riled up. I guess I can understand if you go to an opposing board to talk a little trash if it's the week of the game, but at this point in the season it's just pointless especially after getting stomped on in the game. I guess I hope they are accomplishing whatever it is they are trying for because it sounds like they need some meaning in their lives.

If a troll posts on a message board, but he's blocked by everyone, does the troll really even post?
Woah, man. Woah.

The Ignore feature is great because it allows people to ignore me as much as they like.

Just a reminder given the return of one prominent poster (I may or may not be referring to Music City Muskie).
