Will Xavier Offer More Jerseys to Fans?

After looking on the Big East site, it is surprising how Xavier fans have the smallest selection when trying to buy a uniform. The only jersey they have up is a Brad Redford jersey. I realize the shop in the Cintas has a Semaj jersey but the design of these unis are bland.

Does anybody have any info/know if Xavier plans on selling the Nike Elite Jerseys with the X watermark on the back in the near future? It would be nice to be able to purchase jerseys like the ones that are offered to Georgetown and Villanova fans.

That's just how Xavier rolls. I started at Xavier in 97, and instantly became a delusional super fan. I literally almost always wear something with Xavier on it when I leave my house. Since 97 I've always looked for cool Xavier gear. It doesn't exist. There is usually one new cool item available every year or so. Who ever is in charge of that stuff is horrible at their job. Pretty sure the Jersey offered is almost always a senior jersey....

But in this case I think we're probably going to see Maj leave after this year and they didn't want to miss out on marketing opportunities.

It goes back much further than 97, I arrived at X in 68 and the selection was bad then. The person in charge of the clothing line must have no sense of style whatsoever. The few nice things they do have, you would need a mortgage to buy. On line stores have better stuff.

If you want authentic jerseys I would also try Koch's Sporting Goods downtown. They may be able to help you.

Also Xavier will auction off game used jerseys after a game each season (at least they have the past few years). Perhaps you could pay for one of those suckers if you want one bad enough.

I just snatched a pretty nice Xavier jacket at Target the other day. When I went back (less than a week later) they were all gone. On a side note, they still had plenty of UC stuff up for grabs. :laugh:

I have all the stuff from Homage and CincyShirts... Those are in heavy rotation. I should have clarified that Xavier University sells practically nothing that I would want to buy. You have to look elsewhere. For some reason, we get an EastBay catalog every so often. There is loads of stuff in there for quite a few school, some schools very mid major. Hardly ever is it offered in the X version.

I guess it all comes down to supply and demand. There aren't that many of us. Once we knock out a half dozen final fours and some national championships, we'll prob see some cool gear out there.

The last 2 years, I've found great Xavier Nike gear in the bookstore and some at Cintas at the start of the season and I've asked for a lot of it for Christmas. Both years, by the time my family went to buy some of the items, they were all sold out. This year, they went in November and it was all gone! (The specific Nike items I wanted) We asked around why this happens every year and were told that Nike only makes a specific amount of each piece of apparrel and then they don't make it again (no matter how fast the items sell). What they/I don't know is if Nike caps how much they'll make for X each year (seems kinda odd but plausible I guess) or if X just doesn't order enough every year (seems so stupid that it almost has to be true).

If anyone knows anything more about how Xavier & Nike's setup works, I'd love to know. I feel like it's just completely falling short. Throw in that the bookstore has been closed before and/or after several games this year, and it's a recipe for STUPID!

I was at Koch's before Christmas and have to say I was not impressed with their selection. I thought the store and Cintas had better merchandise in the same price range.
